Default Door panel extended pins/clips for aftermarket speakers?

Alright, I installed new speakers in the Baja and now I actually have a real improvement on sound quality..

I used special speaker spacers I had made for the Baja but now my speakers sit a bit too high and the body panels wont snap into place around the speaker area.

This causes a bit of rattle when I have a lot of bass playing. I remember back in my WRX days a company used to sell extended clips for door panels with aftermarket speakers. This was to act as a spacer at the same time as a door panel pins. Does anyone know if these are available for the Baja? If not, do you have any suggestions?

i dont know of any pins like what you are looking for, however the permenent (because you cant return to stock) solutions would be to either make the door panel hole larger to fit around the spacers, or mark the mounting holes and top mount the speakers over the panel.

Direct replacement for pins surrounding the door speakers. These allow you to elevate the door panel away from the speaker to help eliminate rattling. These are currently included with every IA adapter set. This is a replacement pack. 10 in total.

Try just screwing the speakers directly into the holes in the door for the original stock spacers it won't be the perfect fit, but at least the door covers will go on straight again.

You know, I ended up just directly tapping into the door panel body. I don't have the stock speakers anymore, and I never had plans to return to stock anyways. All that dynamat in there too - after going through spending $200 to replace all 4 door speakers with damaged outer rubber gaskets due to rubbing against the plastic grills, I'm like forget the brackets and adapters - just mount direct.

Never regretted it. Seals better, sounds a lot tighter and - yeah.

how do you roll the window down if you mounted the aftermarket speaker directly to the door?

Gotta find a speaker that's shallow enough to do so. I posted up maximum depths for door speakers a while back ago, but I don't remember. Try search.

For extended pins... there is a NAPA part that is exactly the same as the IA part, and it's cheaper. Search the Audio section.

edit: I searched for ya... here's the thread:
