Default 2009 Forester Fantasy: Full STI Swap (video)

2009 Forester Fantasy: Full STI Swap

Watch the video, now!

The 2009 Forester is great for kids. Fill is up with stuff and away you go. But, it's not exactly an exciting ride. Even the XT turbo version lacks serious "oomph." The guys over at Pacific Import Auto (PIA) in Tacoma, Wash., found the remedy. Recently, they upgraded their shop 2009 Forester to full STI running gear: 300hp boxer motor, DCCD all-wheel drive system, the works. The result is downright evil... with still room enough for the kids. How cool is that?

I love it! I'd seriously consider the FXT if I could get/retrofit a manual transmission. Something else for me to research in my ADD-driven car search.

Thats a pretty cool swap, but I've seen 08 STi's put 310 whp with just a reflash. Is PIAs dyno really that conservative?

Sick car. Sick. They should offer one like that from the factory. Call it the "FXTI" or something.

Subaru Designers:

Take that car as a big hint! Except for the $40-$50,000 price part.

I agree... well done indeed. Sadly, I don't think Subaru cares about the fsti/american market.. Plus, it is more fun to build one.

The simple steps that Subaru would have to do to sell this vehicle.

There is virtually NO labor involved in changing the drivetrain of a vehicle while it is in production. ESPECIALLY if the two vehicles are produced on the same assembly line. The only price increase would be the difference in cost of parts + whatever mark-up they saw to be reasonable. (Preferably none)

I'm sure people could demand it to be done.

Such a sexy car.
