Team Tarzan Tomei / Cusco / Voltex Impreza in World Time Attack Challenge 2010

“It’s a great news for the event, the Tomei/Cusco WRX is a big drawcard for the event and it’s the first of the Japanese cars to confirm its attendance”, said Ian Baker – director of Superlap Australia.

i was actually just wondering what happened to this machine the other day, seems like it dissapeared from the media for a year or so.

this car was/is in Japan for the rev speed battle out in tsukuba. it really is a sight to be seen racing around the track. i was talking a bit to the guys at tomei and they were saying it might get some updates while it is out in australia

Tarzan uses powerband/gearbox based on his driving style.. When he drove our WRX, we were looking at the logs and trying to figure out why he shifts at 5800RPMs

was clear to us when we watched the incar video..

Tomei/Cusco STi was brought here for the superlap battle, spend about 4-5 months at the warehouse before getting shipped back to Japan for the AU event coming up.. Has good chance to win !

This setup is as close as it gets to JGTC level, one step us is the Cusco GT300 race car..

the Tomei Cusco car came 3rd at Tsukuba Time attack on Wednesday.

The car was kept in storage for a while due to the economy crisis and since it was not a main priority to be out there racing it was put on the backburner for a while. But now it is back out again and looks like it will make an another appearance this time in Australia next year!!!

Going to be good to see the Superlap World Series event
