Default T-mobile or Verizon?

Which has the better coverage? There are a couple of phones i like with each so it's basically down to coverage. I have AT&T and hate it so that's not an option. Thanks.

tmobile. no comparison. especially if you visit southern california often.

not to mention there is nothing better than an unlocked iphone. free internet, free app store apps, free apps you cant get from app store, etc etc.

I have t-mobile and will be probably switching to Verizon for the droid. So much faster than the Iphone to. Just not to amped on exterior design.

the droid has like 75% free apps and the apps you have to pay for are mostly crappy games.....also software for the droid is open source so individuals and companies can make free apps. Much faster than the iphone and can multitask. I had Tmobile and it was the worst service I ever had and not only that the customer service was horrible. The droid can play youtube videos in HD and it is amazing, it took me a while to figure out how to get the hd but now that I know how to do it, its great....and not only that you can download youtube videos to the phone, and you can record video on the phone and upload it straight to youtube, I can go on and on...

Gonz, Verizon over T-Mobile anyday...I saw you in the mall I think it was yesterday you looked right at my store (Qwest) and I noticed that you were about to stop but kept walking. Sorry I didn't say anything man I was finishing up with a customer that was actually switching over from T-Mobile to Verizon. I liked the jacket you were wearing!

If you haven't got Verizon yet you can come see me in Fashion Place just give me a call 801.574.6223...

If ur Att service is bad don't get t mobile it would be worse. Verizon uses different towers and u ll have a better chance of improvement.

G1 from t-mobile is the same as the droid, with a different chassis ( case ). The droid name comes from the linux based operating system named Android. They both have access to the same market and apps, most of which are free because of android being an open source operating system. I currently have t-mobile and the G1 and love it, but it I were going to change, I would go to sprint. Fasted internet access out of all companies. Plus they will be releasing 4g access soon, which is anywhere from 8mpbs to 12mpbs. Pretty crazy that a phone will have those speeds.

4G LTE will not be coming to the regular public till close to 2012... for verizon anyway. But if everyone will be using them, they will probably be slower. Everyone using something doesn't mean its the best... It means its probably the cheapest...

by your logic gsm should be slower. i can tell you definitivly that its not. 21mbps hspa+ already has been rolled out in some parts of the world and 7.2mbps hspa is out as well. thats only considered 3g.

what does that mean to you?

that means your beloved wi-max is slower than 3g and doesn't have as much coverage/support and most importantly runs on a frequency that doesnt have as much interior penetration as lte.

wi-max is so WEAK as a 4g network that sprint farmed the buildout to an MVNO.

oh and your 4g timeline has an extra year on it when it comes to verizon. its more correct for att who is still rolling out hspa+ as fast as they can to fill coverage holes.

wimax is weak! LTE is the future! Verizon will have it's LTE up before ATT ever gets close to the 3g coverage we have now..This thread got cleaned up ALOT!

It's worth pointing out though that having an open source OS running on hardware with different specs from different vendors is going to lead to forking and app incompatability between different Android phones down the line.

G1 is on android 1.5 I believe, and Droid is on 2.0.1, same platform but slightly updated for the Droid.

thats correct my supervisor has the G1 and after he messed around with my droid and now he wishes he waited and went with Verizon and the droid. The new 2.0.1 OS runs faster and more efficiently than 1.5
