Agreed. The car hasn't even been released yet, so why speculate. When a real US model hits Car&Driver and Motortrend, then start to speculate what you'll be able to get out of it.

The Vw here are the same has the ones in Europe, but we don't get the engine they do. We have DRL's and NO rear fogs the better seats. But engines, are US engines are the same as the engine in Europe. They just get more engines to choose from. They have a 90hp, 115hp, 150hp TDI engines. The VR6 it is, 12v, with 174hp (Like US) 24v with 205hp (Like us). They all get 4-motion in the golf GTI and Jetta GLI, GLX models. But the cars we have here in the US do have counterparts in europe. Thats true with almost all german cars. Here in the US we just don't get all the models that the car company offers.

The hatch back golf vr6 has 176 in europe what about the golf RS1 we dont have that. The interior is different and te engine in different in the US to many rules.

I'm getting sick of Code-7's and Blacknight's speculation, too. The arguments could last forever but until you do something about it we'll never know. I say shut up and do it. You guys have all the cars, the dubs and the WRX. What are you waiting for? Do you need help, because I'm willing to help? I think you know how everyone feels so get on with it. As for the EVO, we'll have to wait like Scott said. It should be easy to mod but who knows how finicky the ECU will be.

I don't think Kris was relating the midnight racing to what you're trying to do. You're right both a quick acceleration and a blast ver 100 mph is illegal. But, I think Kris was trying to infer that a short blast to 60 has a smaller probablity of getting caught then it trying to race from 60 - ????mph.

It's alot easier to get out of a 0-60 ticket then a 0-120 ticket.... LOL!

As for the dubs vs. WRX. Just line them up and race them. If you win, you have bragging rights. If you lose? Well, just suck it up and maybe try again. I'm sick of the speculation already!!!!! Just line them up!!!!! The worst thing that can happen is the people videotaping them edit them together wrong! ala Eddy vs. Gregg.

As for the EVO. We all know it's not going to hold a candle to the J-spec version. The US is not getting the following stock parts that the J-spec version has - 3-core FMIC, 18G Turbo, 550cc Injectors. It will be easy to mod, because it's almost the exact same car as a DSM!!!!!!!!!! It will probably run 14.3-14.5 @ 93-96.

I am about sick of the speculations too. Honestly I could really care less if I lose to a WRX, or a VR6 for that matter. I just want to take my Small 1.8 litre 4 cylinder k03/k04 Hybrid Turbo'd car and make it run its best. Even running my ****ty high 14's with my ****ty launches, I still had people clapping for me last weekend, and giving the "tumbs-up". Older Guys saying that they were surpised how fast it is. That is just more incentive for me to learn how to drive this car better, and pull a Low 14 and just shock everyone

By the way, I was kidding about the 'being offended' part. I think you guys are assuming I'm an *******, mis-interpreting my posts as me being pissed off with a point to prove ala little man syndrome, which is not the case. What do I have to prove? I already own a fast car. I'm doing this for fun.

I made the simple comment that a Vw will potentially pull and walk a WRX after 60, then you guys wanted a vid to prove it. We said ok, it'll be done this weekend. This thread was on its way to die until someone opened up their big fat mouth and said the WRX will smoke 'em all so why bother, trying to start a pissing match.

I've explained my point of reasoning several times afterwards (people doubt and question, I write), yet some of you guys don't want to hear it. Fine, get out of the thread and wait for the vid.

About getting pulled over and busted; Regardless of which is a worse ticket or citation, I'd rather NOT find out, to see whose right. Let's just hope it doesn't happen.

I wanted a video because it is nice to watch and see the results when you can't be there in person. I'm sure we all work on cars and drive them because it is fun not because we have something to prove (Unless, you're Tusin).
