Default Mercedes-Benz to unveil a new concept at the Detroit Auto Show

Quote:
Mercedes is set to show off its future look at next month's Detroit motor show with a concept that hints at its next design direction.

Company design boss Gordon Wagener told Autocar that he wants to raise Merc's design credentials.

"We want to elevate our design towards art and if any company can do it Mercedes can," he said.

Wagener wouldn't be drawn on exact details of the Detroit concept but admitted that it was a "pure design concept which is long and exaggerated" but with no firm clues to a specific production model.

However, rumours suggest the concept may give strong hints to the next CLS saloon, due to be revealed at the tail end of 2010.

then they seriously need to update the interiors on their cars...my moms 98 C class has basically the same design as the 2010 model. buttons are all basically in the same spot and look the same.

That's deliberate on Mercedes' part. They want people to be comfortable going from an older model to a new one without having to relearn where everything is.
