Default Evo bragging, 11.010 @ 124.55 on stock turbo

Hey guys, I have been on and off on Nasioc for years. In the past, I have owned 2 Legacy GT (EJ22T powered beasts), and then a 2005 STi and a 2004 STi. I picked up this 2003 Evo about a year and a half ago, and this year I went beast mode on it. Here is my best to date:

First pass I went 11.010 @ 124.55 mph. I cut a 1.480 60', coming out of the hole like a rocket!

Second pass I went 11.227 @ 124.27 mph. That run was scary, since I almost kissed the wall on my launch. The guy in the burnout box didn't spray any water down, so my burnout didn't work, and I just did a dead-hook launch in the box. When I launched at the tree, I nuked the tires free, and slid to the left.

Third pass felt the strongest, but it was still not there. I went 11.036 @ 124.49. That run I went 98.41 mph in the 1/8th, which is very strong for my car!

Overall I am very happy with today's results, and the car is still in one piece I didn't change anything since last time I went, we just had much better weather today. The car still has stock turbo, stock exhaust manifold, stock intake manifold, stock throttle body, stock fuel injectors, stock fuel rail, stock fuel pressure, stock block, stock head, etc... Car was running the normal 28 psi, tapering down to 21 - 20 psi at redline, running on Delta Sonic 100 octane pump gas.

I currently hold 4th place in the world for ET and 5th place for MPH on the stock turbo. The car is a blast to drive! Here are a few pictures:

Fun times

Damn, almost in the tens with the stock turbo! Nice! Did you have to completely gut the interior to get down to that weight?

Well, it's my car, but STM did my tune, a bunch of work on the car, and sponsor me with drag wheels/slicks and trailor me to the track. Emery treats me VERY well, and in turn, the car gets the shop some good attention

I think the fastest stock turbo STi currently is in the high 11's. 11.78 seems to pop out to me, but I am not sure. When I had my stock turbo STi, I went 12.6 @ 108 with just a few bolton mods.

As for the weight, the interior is removed on these passes, but that is only a small portion of the weight reduction. The brakes saved me 70 pounds, the wheels saved another 50 pounds, and all throughout the car you will see more reduction. The CF trunk, gutted front bumper, etc.. It's a streetable car, and I put about a thousand miles on it this year, but it performs VERY well as a drag car.

11.715 is the fastest stock turbo Sti to date... I think it was roly... The evo stock turbo is a bit larger than stock Sti turbos though, correct me if I'm wrong..?

How many miles does John Force drive his car on the street each year

I am just saying that while it is my drag car, I still drive it to the grocery store, the mall, on trips to visit my family, and out on cruise nights during the summer

I am not sure about the cfm for the turbos. The Evo 9 turbo is a 16g, so whatever that would compare to on an STi. It's comparing apples and oranges though.

That's a good time. I have gotten MUCH better at driving since I ran a 12.6 @ 108 in my STi. I would love to get another one, and see if I can get into the 11's on the stock turbo. Maybe I will do that next year!

vf39 is a joke compared the 16g. Whats the STi record on a comparable turbo? ... it's no 11.0 but it should be closer than 11.7

27xx weight!!!! That's impressively light!! That thing gets down either way though... good driving

Well, keep in mind the stock turbo record on an Evo is 10.218 @ 133.37 by my brotha from anotha motha down in Florida, Brian (most-wanted).

Yeah, I shaved quite a bit of weight out of there. It may be stock turbo, but there is still A LOT of money into the car

There is no secret, the EVO will make 400-450whp on race gas with the stock turbo, thats good enought to take a full weight evo in to the 10s. The key is weight reduction his car weighted like 2600 lbs , + he is an amazing driver

My car makes almost that much power too. He made 400+ on a dynojet, I make 358 on a mustang. You nailed it though, it is the weight reduction, and the driver. It's always those two factors

450 is not enough to get a full weight evo into the 10's though. I would be VERY surprised if even Brian could have gotten his car at a 10.999 if his was full weight. That 800 pounds not only helps on the whole pass, but the weight is how I cut 1.4's and he cut a 1.39.

450whp on Buschur's dyno is all you need

I was just looking at Most-Wated (Brian) Thread, and at the time of the 10.2 pass his car weighted 2400 lbs + 190lbs driver and made 468whp.

To get a WRX/STi to that weight you would need a lot of holes

Even his car wouldn't have made 450 whp on Buschur's dyno, heh. Maybe high 300's. Buschur and STM's dynos both read VERY close to eachother. Worth noting though, on both my car, and Brian's car, we did not hole saw anything. Just bolt-on weight reduction and removing stuff!

A lot of stock parts so what mods does this car have besides a dramatic weight reduction, 100oct gas, and a damn good driver (1.48 60' WOOT!)?
