None that pay really well without some sort of education or vocational training. The best jobs not dependent on education that I have found in the RGV were usually call center jobs doing customer service for satalite services. I.e. Converges and West. I am a nurse though so what do I know.

I wasnt able to get the Fozzie Xt back in NC. The guy didnt trade it in by the time I left.

I do however still have my Gold Impreza wagon. And I'm finally down in the valley. 1600 miles in 22.5 hours straight.

Tested out my tomtom gps over near my inlaws house. Found what to be non-existent roads. It actually had a stop sign in some guys side lawn going between two cornfields. Actually looked like a polwed spot thru them. So I took my car down it... sideways.

Definately will have to go on more adventures like that.

Will try to post pictures up soon

I'm actually from PA, my hometown hosts the oldest rally in America. I ended up marrying a local whom I met while stationed in Japan.
And its ridiculously hot down here.

Cool. Well honestly man, good luck. It can be a culture shock to people that were not raised in the valley. And yes it is brutally humid and hot.

All we got up here is that autocross at the end of June and the oldschool meet in Austin next weekend.

Anyone see the front page of NASIOC? That rally is held in my hometown. I've driven many of them roads. Especially the section of course right behind my dads house.

yeah, I think the heat and humidity killed everyone off.
I'm still scouring the net to find either STi full suspension or coilovers. :P

Did any of you happen to be driving thru Harlingen Wal-Mart parking lot yesterday, in a blue 05-07 STI?

Or any of you headed towards Harlingen from Elsa/ Edingburg way on 107 in a black WRX Wagon?

Heres what I've noticed since being in the valley for good:
1. the weather is pretty damn hot for not being summer.
2. Theres no good way to kill the ants.
3. People seem to have problems driving/ parking/ and getting phone calls while doing both.
4. People tailgate way to damn close for comfort. Almost get rear ended daily. Its a hatchback, the brake lights work trust me.
5. I've never had so many dings in my doors from other people. Nor any dents caused by it.
6. Of the million dirt roads ive traveled, how is it going down a highway I get a rock chip in my windshield?
7. This place is ghetto!!!! Every news channel talks about people beating there kids to death, smuggling drugs/ammo/ people, people getting murdered daily, crooked cops, shoot outs with cops, border patrol slaying people, people getting slaughtered in there vehicles, some dad beheading his kids.
^^^ But they did have some good news on( weather and sports)

Yeah it is definitely a different world man. I grew up there and once I figured out how everything works in the RGV I wanted out. Everything is crooked there and respect for others property can be pretty slim. But with that said, you are an hour away from a good beach and cost of living is dirt cheap.

So autocross is next weekend, you gonna be there m_clark?

Kevin.. Was that you in the Wal-mart parking lot yesterday? I was right behind you, until I got cut off by a ford explorer( woman driving and talking on cell phone).

No Hands... I have to wait and see. My wife and I both start working hopefully next week, and it depends on what hours each of us get.

well, If it makes you feel better, I have 5 chips and 6 cracks running across both my foresters altogether, AND got those door dings too. It's just best to park as far away as possible, those jerks usually are lazy and stick to the closest spaces. To beat the heat, there's Raspas, DQ, and stripes 44oz gatorade. As far as the driving, well, just be on the look out...my wife gets mad at me cuz I pay more attention to the road than her. lol.

I havent had Raspas, but even parking away. Theres always that one ass hole.

It was probably the valero homeboy though.

My subie is just base model gold hatchback with rally armor flaps and tint. Im waiting to put my 02-04 style wrx rims on it. Ive got to sand them down and refinish them.

This is my 08 Subie at an auto-x event in Wilmington, NC, last month while I was stationed up there. And yes, thats painters tape. A few hours and a few extra rolls of tape will add flare.
