Default WRX/STi axle back exhaust bolt on to NA 2.5?

Does anyone know if a WRX/STi axle back will bolt on to a NA 2.5L? Why not? If not, does anyone have any recommendations about which exhaust I should put on my 07 2.5i? Any help is appreciated!

Plenty of threads on this subject. Search is your help

In short: it will bolt on with a flange rotation. Won't sound too good unless you put UEL headers as well. That + sti catback will be nice, but quiet. Other, louder options include Stromung. Google youtube for exhaust, check the exhaust tread stickie on rs25.com

just did that exact install in my wagon...it fits like bluefoton says
i installed it on the tail end of a greddy and had to cut/shorten,and re-weld the center section of pipe...
sounds much nicer than the greddy that i replaced it with and fits like a glove

hey, im using an 05 sti axleback in my 07 2.5i and I did not have to rotate anything. I just simply took the old one off and bolted the new one in. doesnt feel any different. has a slight deep bass when your next to it that you can barely feel, but nothing too noticeable. it looks alot better than the stock one though.

that was well over a few year ago, but I think it is best to do a double check on the model of your car and axleback.

You DONT need to rotate the flange. All mufflers on imprezas 02 - 07 are interchangable (dont know about OBS's), but I had a 03 then an 06 WRX muffler, a few after market ones, now an 07 STi muffler. It will bolt right up without modification. If you wanted to use a WRX/STi midpipe/cat section you would need to rotate and modify some components due to our lack of an UP/DP...

As far as sound goes, there is no difference (at least not
a real noticeable difference) when using a WRX axleback. With an STi axleback, you will get a deep tone in the low/mid range.

I think this is a perfect volume.. This is what I currently have. I have gone through quite a few different setups, and others (stromung) will make your head hurt after too long driving... but thats just my opinion

This is correct. The axlebacks are interchangable though the midpipe is another story.

My bad. I read "catback" instead of axelback. Get a STi muffler, bolt it on, and enjoy. I cagree with suub07 too about the volume - I tried the stromung, and despite the fact it sounds amazing, I couldn't stand it after an hour on the freeway.
