Default Mega Ultra Mad Props to Wanye at VTR! Seriously...He's good people! Dyno chart inside

Last week, I put out a "I need help with an up-pipe" thread. Wanye responds saying he'd be happy to help THAT DAY as well as do it for a VERY reasonable price (the best price I could find as a matter of fact) with the condition that I help him so I learn how to do it...fine by me

So I drive up there with my ceramic coated up-pipe/downpipe and the rest of my exhaust in tow. I get there at 4pm and we get it up on the lift and pull everything apart with zero problems (great this is going amazingly well). When we go to put studs in the up-pipe, we learn that the ceramic coaters forgot to tap or tape off the threaded holes; we can't get the studs threaded in now. So we spend a couple HOURS trying to tap it, no luck. One of the guys up there (Zach I think?) even drives me over to Sears to buy new taps to try and get this to work....no luck. After trying to figure it out for a rediculous amount of time, we finally get something to work and we're off and running. Everything continues to go well and we get everything mounted. On to the exhaust...

The exhaust is a TurboXS system (4" downpipe, 3" race pipe, 3" mid pipe, then a Prodrive axleback), and it does not want to line up properly to save its life. We finally get it bolted together only to look at it and realize its haning 2" from the ground!?!?!?! By far the lowest fitting exhaust I've ever seen. So we come to the conclusion that I need to get the race pipe cut up and rewelded to bring the angle up a bit, so I did that the next day.

Moral of the story: Wanye went so far out of his way to help a random person on here it is ridiculous! We ended up being at his shop until just short of midnight, and he was happy to stay and help me out! Wanye will be getting ALL of my business from now on and I will be strongly encouraging ANYONE who needs something that he can get to go see him; You will not be dissappointed.

Thanks again Wayne, you truely are a benefit to this community.

Now, all of this was actually for something...I went down to see Tim Bailey on Monday for a tune and walked away with 233whp/243tq on his mustang dyno! Looking through some of the online dyno charts that he has loaded up, I am the highest whp/tq stage II 2002-2005 WRX he's done (or the tuner in Plano has done) in the last couple months!!!!

Nice numbers Devin, how's it feel to finally have a somewhat fast car?

But seriously, Wayne and his crew are just plain awesome. It's great to have a shop like this that cares so much about their customers and the community. Absolutely supurb people!

Great Numbers!! So is it safe to assume you took the Access Port challenge and you are now a supporter of Cobb's AP?

Nice numbers man. 1 reason for me to get an AP is to take care of the RPM hang issue with the 3g wrx's. Basically when in a parking lot or at low speeds, my RPM will hang at like 1500 RPM. its pretty annoying. Apparently the APs tuner software is the only way to get access to certain tables on the 3gwrx and fix it.

Anyways man nice numbers and happy holidays.

Thanks guys! And RS_NW, to answer your original question before you edited....

No, I'm not going to throw out a "mad props" to them as I do not feel they went above and beyond the call of duty as Wayne did for instance. While they did cut and reweld my pipe and make it fit properly, I did buy the exhaust from them originally. And yes, they did do a good job, but I feel like I didn't get a great price, especially considering that it was a product I bought from them to begin with. So, to conclude, they did a good job just not a 'great' job.

Glad to help Devin! It really brings the car alive doesn't it.

Awesome job Surgeline! I actually saw the dyno numbers on your new page just before they were posted. Great feature, you guys are setting the standard. The Cobb AP is a powerful tool and I highly recommend it.

I'm confused. Worldone got the pipe cut, and fitted properly the next day for you, yet you can't give them props?
I'm suprised they even got you in the next day.
Sounds to me like you made it to your tuning appointment because of them.

Yes, true. I also could have gone to ANY exhaust shop and got it done for cheaper.

Yes I'm glad they did it. Yes, I've purchased a BUNCH of stuff from them cause I'm happy with them. I have nothing against them and I'm glad they took care of me. But like I said, after purchasing an exhaust system (that didn't fit properly) from them, I EXPECT them to make it right. I'm sorry I don't look at basic customer service as going above and beyond. And yes, I did give them props, BY PAYING THEM (in fact I paid their welder in cash directly, which means he made about $100/hr for working on my car; that's damn good money). And I said thank you and went on my way. However, I'm not going to go out of my way to post a thread about it because I wasn't blown away by the transaction. I was blown away by Wanye for all of his help, that is why he got a thread thanking him.

I also did not want to bring their name into this because I don't think of them negatively either and do not want anyone else to think that way as they are a good shop with good people.

Ya my turbo built boost really slow, perhaps alot of shaft play, he was looking to tune it from 16-17 psi, so my hp might of been around 260whp.
