Default Maxwell Power Dyno Tune: 2.5L SOHC + GT3071R = 512ftlbs of torque

Let me start by saying, I LOVE THIS CAR. Over 500 ftlbs of torque at 4000RPM is just an awesome ride. This car only weighs 2840lbs and with this power it's a ROCKETSHIP!! I think this is also a testament to the ability of the Albins gears. We spent the last few weeks pounding on this transmission with this power.

I LUST your car.

The turbo kit in Craig's car, TMIC, intake, rails, injectors etc are all out of my RS. So there is some sentimental value in his. Thus the "love".

Your car has my trans and diff which is sentimental as well, but it's got the STi swap, S203 wheels and other things ; thus the lust.

at 3k rpm, you have 200ftlbs of torque, at 4k you have over 500 at the wheels. If you want to go sideways in this car, it's REAL easy.

Damn that spool is nuts! If you could hold that power to redline it would be the perfect street powerband. Becides the smaller A/R, is there anything else done to this car that helps it spool so fast?

this is crazy...i had a TD05 20G that made 405 at the wheels at similar RPM and it was straight dangerous to drive if you were not expecting that TQ....sideways is right! wheel smoke on command!! great build!

no sir. Regular 2.5 RS coil. Notice the boost is only 23psi. If you go too much higher you start to blow out spark.

The heads are the answer. They are the reason why it spools so fast and why the power drops off hard on the top end. The port design says it all.
There is ALWAYS a compromise of some sort. We are contemplating putting a larger AR turbine housing on it so see how much it helps the top end.

I love my 'Maxwell motor[JE pistons, kelford-B cams, 3076 , 1000 inj. etc.]I wish I could turn it up but I need a tranny first.
At 16psi it makes 368hp/ 318tq.[being nice to trans]and 27mpg
Amazing thing is I start it up on a cold day, it idles better than stock and no piston slap[quiet]
Thankyou Dom, Craig, Wes; it was fun working with you guy,s!

my 240ftlbs raises bloodpressure, I cannot imagine double that.

Nice work.

I'm curious what you guys used for a header and what you ended up with for compression.

I'm using the same turbo but on a completely stock NA engine so it's nice to see what it's capable of once I upgrade some more stuff.

Here's a link to some pics of my coil setup. I made a custom harness for the coils that runs back to the Hydra. They work really well once the dwell is set properly and I'm able to run a 1mm gap on a 10:1 engine pushing 12psi. With the stock coil It wouldn't pull clean over 6000rpm even with a .6 gap.

Simple: SOHC heads, .63 A/R turbine, TMIC.

There is ALWAYS a compromise. Faster spool means less top end HP.

we covered that already.
