I did a 99 coupe with a full swap this week. Thing made 400/400 and I about **** myself when we took it on the road. It made me miss my RS so bad, he got to drive his home. I got to push mine in

Congrats and Enjoy it. I will always say that the RS/GC is by far the most fun of all the Subaru's.

thanks....I am finally getting use to the huge power to weight ratio. in the beginning this car scared the crap out of me.

also below is a link of the journal i kept while building this car. for the most part I went from 2 cars to the dyno within 17 days.

according to my registration 2900 pounds but with the swap not sure. I am trying to track down a place where I can weigh the car officially.

Go to the dump over in Kailua, or I bet you could get it weighed at Sand Island somewhere. They must have a scale out there.

The car looks beautiful in person. So clean and looks like everything on the car was there from the factory, exactly what I am looking to do with my wagon. When I get back i'm going to have to bug you for a ride in this beast!

As clean as the car looks there are still minor stuff that need to be fixed that only the guy that built the car from the ground up would see. But for the most part the car is 98% complete. I also can't take full credit for all of it. Shags and Dave helped out a lot and provided ideas on how to make things work. Its also kinda crazy on how those two can get my imagination moving. I would spend hours or even a day trying to figure out how to make something work and the second they show up BAM I figure it out.
I will start seriously looking around for a scale this coming week. with all the holiday activities I kinda took a break from the car.

As for the ride, let me know. Probably be best when the t-shirts come in.

OP, please read this thread and reorganize your 1st post to reflect the required format. Looks like you have most of the information there, just needs to be organized differently. Thanks.

I paid 10k for the 01 RS back in 2006 and used it as my daily driver as I had an 05 STI as my play car.

The STI was t-boned in October 08 and the bank wanted to repair the STI since the car was worth 20k and it had 14k in damages. After getting multiple opinions on the condition of the car it was not in my best interest to fix the damage (floor pan rolled). So I told the insurance company to cut me a check for the repairs (14k) and that I would use it towards paying off the car. SO out of pocket I technically paid $1000 to the bank to buy out my car. Now this is not counting the monthly payments I have been paying for the past 3 years.

Now add that I already had performance parts on my STI which was roughly 8-10k worth of stuff. I would say I have a total of just under 20K invested into the car depending on how you look at it. Not to mention I am now out of a car payment.

Very nice but why not used uncorrected instead of SAE which takes away power?

^^ It's just the way the dyno was set up that day. It doesn't take away power, only changes #'s so who cares?

Very nice indeed. Going from the N/A 2.2 in my L to the conservatively tuned Ver 1/2 2.0L was a night and day difference, and a lot of fun...I couldn't imagine adding another 100+hp (mine currently puts down around 220).
