coated mild steel. stainless isn't worth the bump in price.

What gauge steel is the better question? Thin steel will emit the DREADED TICK! that ALL N/A guys suffer when going UEL.

i was going to ask the same, actually. i was hoping for some nice thick headers in mild steel. i will just spray them with some black header paint and be done with it.

Anything other than thick wall cast is going to tick. It's just a fact of life.

Personally, I'd be happy with anything as long as it's durable, fits correctly (2006 2.5i wagon) and produces power (or efficiency) and not just noise.

But of the choices given, uncoated stainless or coated steel appeal to me.

This.

Whats kept me from buying a header before now is worries about durability, fitment, and check engine lights - all things I don't care to deal with for just some boxer rumble. If I knew a product would be durable, fit correctly, and not pop up a check engine light, I would absolutely consider buying it. Right now, no product in this market really does that (seems like the TWE would work, but I refuse to pay that much money).

No aftermarket header that increases the velocity if exhaust gases and is not made out of cast will be cel free on it's own.

If it fits my 2010 2.5i no questions asked or no codes. I would be happy with whatever they produce.

the 05 to 07 imprezas are a lot less sensitive to header changes than the older models. you will be fine.

So Moore you have been getting pretty good responses regarding preferences on materials. do you have a ballpark on the pricing differences of the mild steel v stainless steel?

Yes they can fit. No, they are not a bolt on solution

No reason it shouldn't...of course these headers aren't bolt on as they bascally require a new cat/catback system
