Default 04 wrx early production- Harmonic dampers?? anyone install these before??

Hi guys, so I have been on a hunt to find out why I get this vibrating, resonating, grumble from my rear end at above 60+mph.

I found this link on scoobymods that had this Subaru official bulliten posted. This bulliten would affect cars the were early production 2004 wrx models, manufactured before april 2004

Has anyone ever heard of these? Prices, how hard they are to install?
There is a piece they refer to as the "differential number" and im assuming a new one of these are needed as its in the parts list.

any info on this would be appriciated

I can take pictures of the 2002 rearend I have in my garage with those attached if that would help you out. Probably not until this weekend of next week though cause I'm out of town at the minute.

kpluiten: Sweet dude, a pic would definately help, then I can check if I already have them, ill try to look without your pic too.

I made a big thread about this vibration/resonance noise I get when I travel above 60+mph. After doing some inspections I found that my 3' was close to rubbing against the axle where it exits the diff. So i am getting longer exhaust hangers to fix that issue but Im not sure that will fix the overall vibration issue since I found this Subaru bulliten

Is this something you got installed? cost? It refers to the part " differential member" what is that, and is a new one needed with the drilled holes?

GHK- Subaru implemented this fix for cars produced after April 2004 so ya you have them for sure. I have a early production wrx, probably produced back in 03.

thanks for the help guys

No clue. You could probably get someone to sell them to you if you posted up a wanted add. I'd send them your way, but I'm going to be using this subframe in my garage.

Default Same diff member

The part labelled differential member? Does that mean I need a whole new one or is this something that can be installed onto my existing differential member

kpluiten send me a pic of your 02 rear end when you get a chance. Thanks.

Shows 41310FE040 from '02, October — '03, October, '04, April — '05, May
41310FE050 from '03, November — '04, March, '04, January — '04, April.
Weird they'd do that.

Default pricing in Vancouver bc

Ok so I went to the local subaru dealer today with the part numbers for the harmonic dampers. These are the prices at Don Docksteader in Vancouver BC

41310fe040 - rear diff member assembly - $213.08
41322ac050 - dynamic dampers - $106.52 qty=2
023508000 - lock bolts - $4.08 qty= 2

Grand Total = $362.53 and thats just for parts.

Seems like a little pricey of a fix and ive read posts where guys install these and the whole vibration/noise doesnt even go away
