the first and third trimesters are the least fun. the second is bearable, and for some odd reason a lot of women get very horny around then.

the first is morning sickness and growing pains, the third is severe discomfort from lugging around a 4+ pound parasite.

My moms been pregnant 4 times with the boys the morning sickness went away. When she was pregnant with me the only girl she was sick 24/7 all nine months.

real ginger tea. I used to buy a ginger root and slice off thin pieces to drop in some boiling water. Brew it like tea and add some honey. Works wonders on the nausea. You can add some peppermint tea as well for flavor.

Abort mission.

Or: doctors prescribe anti-nausea medication. Same thing cancer patients receive..

ginger isn't peppermint, use real ginger anything. And constant eating (my wife lived off chicken nuggets for 2 months)

Read the ingredients, Emetrol is basically very expensive flat coke. Flat or bubbly, coke works.

^ these too but good luck finding low dose B6...seabands did seem to help

Enjoy it all. The wife being pregnant, then losing the baby is much worst than all of those symptoms.

Yeah - some women like being pregnant -- but my wife hates the pregnancy part -- especially right at this phase (she's due next week).

My wife didn't really have the morning sickness issues, just got a bit testy at times. I did spend a lot of time on the road getting smoothies and ice cream. The worst part was the pregnancy farts, I would come to bed way late after playing socom 2, lift the covers and OH DANG.

Yep. The nurses at the hospital where we delivered stopped in to hang out all the time because my wife was so "NICE". I'm all confuzzled about WHY delivery room nurses that give birth via C-Section, anesthesiologists, etc are coming by to hang out DAYS after. And this was after several hours of "pushing”; even those nurses were like WOW! “Yore wife is awesome!” Yes, I know, she IS awesome.

^^ haha well that's cool. my wife actually, her beef today was that all the customers at her work were being dicks and her older coworkers weren't very sympathetic.

she sells shoes at a large local dept. store and it's a lot of back and forth with several boxes of shoes and all that. Plus she said they were busier today than black friday, and she was the only one in the dept with no help for several hours. so i can see where that would suck...

This is the thing to look forward to. And when he says "very" he really means "freaky". Enjoy the hormone rush as much as possible when it hits.

We didn't have much morning sickness either. Once or twice a mild (and totally unexpected) claustrophobia attack that subsided after a few minutes.

If you think it sucks now....wait until the kid is born. Then it really sucks.

Our first one my wife got hit hard by postpartum depression which I was too naive to really understand what it was or to even be prepared for it. At first I thought she was just tired and worn out from labor and *nobody* gets rest in a hospital.

Once we got home, things got really bad. She just withdrew more and more, had no interest in the baby, stopped eating, and just sobbed constantly. That combined with the fact that our daughter did not sleep a single minute for the first 48 hours we had her home. She screamed constantly unless you were holding her and carrying her around the house.

My wife finally called her mother who showed up, took one look around the room the instant she stepped in the door, and called the psychiatrist. Then my wife was too afraid to be treated because she was too scared whatever they did wouldn't work. How do you treat someone that is too scared to be treated?

Anyway, it took about a full year for my wife to get back to some semblance of normal.

We had a 2nd one in the oven about 18 months later but it didn't make it through the 1st trimester. Had a DNC done. I was worried about that but my wife came through that one like the woman I married. Basically she was like "how soon can we try again?"

Had our son about 30 months after our daughter. But this time, we were well prepared. We knew what might be coming and put my wife heavy on the anti-anxiety meds immediately after the kid came out. Tapered those off gradually over the next 4 weeks and that helped an enormous amount.

I was working 120+ hrs/week during most of her pregnancy, so I didn't have to deal with most of it.

Wifey had morning sickness pretty much all the way through.

OB prescribed her a couple drugs that worked LIKE MAGIC. One was for daytime and one was for night. Good stuff.

well, i guess it's just that emotional time of the pregnancy. she was upset at work because they were swamped and you know how that goes. I guess they were saying things like "well maybe they should hire more people", etc..., etc.....

i just told her to say eff 'em, not like they matter that much anyway. they're just people.

shoud be a good 8 months
