Default 9ff TR-1000 911 Turbo hits 243.4 mph

http://www.4wheelsnews.com/9ff-tr-10...sting-circuit/

Quote:
9ff’s tuned Porsche 911 Turbo, dubbed the TR-1000, is reported to have hit a top speed of 391.7 km/h (243.4 mph) at the ATP automotive testing circuit in Papenburg, Germany.

The 9ff TR-1000 boasts a flat-six engine with larger turbochargers, an improved intercooler, sport camshafts, titanium con rods, crankshaft, a sport air filter, a revised ECU, and a high performance exhaust system.

As a result of these modifications, the engine is now able to produce 1000 hp at 7800 rpm and 1040 Nm of torque. The TR-1000 can go from zero to 62 mph in 3.2 sec; 124.3 mph in 4.8 sec; 186.4 mph in 8 sec; and 223.7 mph in 16 seconds.

Top speed is recorded at 391.7 km/h; however, 9ff believes that the car could exceed 400 km/h with improved aerodynamics.

For the car to remain stable at high speeds, the TR-1000 had several modifications.

The revisions include a modest body kit with a front splitter, modified side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a rear wing, plus a high performance braking system, and an adjustable sports suspension with aluminum dampers.

Rumors have it that this conversion from 911 Turbo to 9ff TR-1000, which cost €130,000 or $186,900 USD, was done for a Greek millionaire’s 25-year-old girlfriend.

Only $186,900? I was expecting the price tag to be a lot higher for the package.

Agreed. Even with the 911 turbo, you're talking $300k. Sure that's a lot, but what cars in that price range have this top end performance?

That can't be right. Acceleration (the slope of the curve) decreases as speed increases (IIRC because air resistance increases more rapidly than velocity). Example:

But I'd imagine that for most of that 0-62 or even 0-100 the tires are spinning, it might accelerate faster at 100+ cause it can actually put the power down at that point

They misquoted the acceleration figures. The original article says 0-62 in 3.2 sec, 62-124 in 4.8 sec etc.

Looks like they only support (extensively at least) the uggo 996 Turbo.

They are well into 997 mods - 1 of their shop cars is almost perfect, until you see it's a Tip... they just haven't updated their website. The 4.2L beast is for 997.1's.

I bet it's going to be difficult with the direct injection. Did they switch over to port?
