Default jdm ver 8 and jdm ver 7

1. what are the differences between a jdm ver 8 sti ecu and jdm ver 7 sti ecu? Do they both require the jdm wiring harnesses to make the avcs work?
2. what are the differences between the jdm ver 8 sti tmic and jdm ver 7 sti tmic? i have read that both are 15% larger than the usdm sti tmic? but i have also read that the jdm ver 8 sti tmic = usdm sti tmic.
3. what are the differences between a jdm ver 8 intake manifold and jdm ver 7 sti manifold? do they both improve flow just as well? or is one preferred over the other?
Any help would be great. Thanks.

the version 8 manifold is a one piece tgv less manifold unlike th version 7 manifold its two pieces like our usdm wrx and sti motors. some people say the ver 8 mani flows alot better then the ver 7 and thats what i thought too until i talked to to p&l motor sports. They said that you can get any sti or wrx mani flow just as good if you have a very good port job on them.

I am not sure about ecu's but i just think its the year difference between the years like ver 7 are 2002- 2003 motors and ver 8 is 2004-2005 motors.

the tmic are alot better then the usdm tmic and alot bigger. I think the ver 7 motor came with a vf34 and the vers 8 motor came with a tiwin scroll turbo so the needed the extra cooling.

let me know if you need anything else i am swaping a ver 8 motor in my car rite now.

1. You don't need the whole JDM harness. Just re-pin a few connectors and add avcs wiring.

2. They are slightly bigger. Not enough to make a significant difference.

3. V7 intake manifold is 3 piece like usdm wrx but has factory tgv deletes. V8 is a 1 piece manifold. The V8 flows better.
