Default Misfire Cyl 2

I have a 2002 Subaru WRX just 70k I have a misfire in cylinder 2 and its running rough. Startup is rough, idle is rough and when u hit the gas, it stalls

possible problems?? Im thinking its something piston/ring wise

just find it hard to believe with just 70k no mods what so ever

I would start with the coil first.

Do a compression test before you start replacing parts.

Spark test the coil pack, the spark plug gap on a new stock plug is .30, if it sparks across .30 just replace the plugs. If not it may be either the coil pack or a bad wire or bad connection, I'd pull the plastic tubing away from the coil pack and look at the wires, or maybe if cyl 4 is misfiring too you have the connections backwards. The black connector goes onto the rear coil pack. Hope this helps! Good luck!

And if your not losing vacuum at idle, knocking, leaking/burning oil or smoking blue or gray out the exhaust chances are its not a piston/ring problem... Halean's right though, it wouldn't hurt to do a compression test while the plugs are out if you think you have a piston or ring problem.
