the only good fitment that I know for the 08+ STIs is the Cosworth FMIC:

http://www.cosworthusa.com/store/pc/...&idproduct=403

yes, Cosworth front mount has a smaller surface area compared to APS 725 and I'm assuming this is why you asked this question unless you didn't know about the Cossy. Howecer, to answer your question: Can it be made to work? maybe... but, it makes more sense to me to use a part that's actually designed for your car.

the APS FMIC uses the stock bumper beam mounts as well as the Cosworth so with some creativity and some fabrication it may be fitted if you don't care so much about the "stock look" and fog lights, if you have them. But again, really, the APS's position is made for the MY02-07 front bumper, and the MY02-07 has much larger space to be used for FMICs vs. MY08. which is why the Cosworth FMIC's size is what it is.

Secondly, another "non-bolt-on" issue is the intake. With 725 you HAVE to use the APS CAI, because it's the only intake that will fit through the fender liner opening with the FMIC piping.

Fabricators have to make their way around the stock bumper for fitment w/ STI foglights, with minimal cutting and make it as easy as possible to install.

Default regarding the aps cat back system

Hello , I'm thinking about the aps cbe system . My concern is , I don't want to cut the rear defuser to make it fit . My other question is due to restriction because it is only a cat back , does it matter if It is a aps , or another brand ( hp will be about the same ? ) . My other option is to wait another year and to save enough money for a full turbo back with the catted down pipe . Can you tell me the cost of both and systems . I'm not going to be using it for racing , but hopefully a couple track days a yr . I hope I gave you enough info about mycar needs .

Thanks machinistboy
