Thumbs up The Blue-Meanie is Gonna Get Surgery!

Took the "Meanie" in to check on my "morning
clutch" and the prognosis was fatal! The
"Empire" is gonna change my clutch, throw-up
bearing, fly wheel, and pressure plate (?).
The "works" will be covered under warranty!
Damn, whoever buys my Suby will have a newer
clutch than I did! Oh, well...please no
flowers! Hopefully will be back on the
road for this Sunday Cruise! See yas!

The infamous "clutch shudder" if I am correct
is a shuddering of the clutch when starting
off from a stop in first gear. Happens in the
mornings, first time you start up, goes away
within seconds as you drive. I guess the
clutch is actually slipping but with a
vibration. They said that my "pressure plate"
or something my be warped. At first I thought
they were going to give me run-around but
they actually experienced the "shudder" so
they agreed to fix after checking with SOA
rep. We will see what actually happens...

Thumbs up

Wo, you still don't have your car? That's a
bummer! I was missing my Suby after only
3 days! (hmmmm...I'm gonna be sick when it
is sold! )

Ok, got the Meanie back with no charges! And
it doesn't look like they even changed the
oil! Still got my NAPA GOLD filter on! What's
up with that? Anyways...

The Meanie drives like it never did before!
Even when I test drove it, it was never
this smooth in shifting! It's like a totally
different car! It may be because the parts
are still new but, I guess time will tell.
Maybe goes to show that these cars or my car
was abused somewhere between the factory
and when I bought it! You think?

Hey nightmare, what did you tell the service techs?

I gotta take my baby into the repair shop at this rate,(still got a little chatter once in a while) and i really don't want to get conned into having to pay for the factory d;oing somthing wrong...

do i have to ask for a regional subaru rep. or something?

Shin

Talking

Shin, if you got morning clutch shudder or
anything similar, you should take it in
right away before your milage gets too high.
Just tell them whats wrong like you don't
know anything and let them diagnose and
tell you what they plan to do. For our cars
since they are new, we don't have to quote
the problems on the I-Club reports unless
Subaru refuses to do warranty repairs. They
won't admit to known problems when you ask,
but it looks like they'll fix it if and
when its seen by their service techs. I
think the magic numbers are 1 year/12k
miles. After that, who knows. The problem
must be easily verifiable, though. Good luck!
