I think the lead singer looks weird, but otherwise I REALLY enjoy this band's sound. Pretty straightforward rock, but very good arrangement of sounds.

I've been on an Iron Maiden kick this week. My cousin got me my first Iron Maiden album in 1982, when I was ten, and I was hooked immediately. One of my favorites, among many, is Wasted Years. Wasted Years was from 1986, and I was one of the coolest kids in ninth grade guitar class because I could play the intro/chorus riff to this song perfectly.

I was privileged to see Iron Maiden back in the late 80's for this tour http://www.ironmaidencommentary.com/...tours&lang=eng . Yngwie Malmsteen opened for them in Jacksonville, Florida. I was 19 and a regular concert goer by that time.

Yngwie was the new fastest guitar player around…Their opening was spectacular. Iron Maiden followed and their stage show, the great old tunes and the multiple encores including Yngwie joining them for THE TROOPER was mind blowing.

Ah, the good ole days.

I think I paid $14 for the ticket!

Only if it was when Michael was still black, otherwise it doesn't really count.

Kids these days are so jaded... Iron Maiden in concert is something I've never seen, always wanted to, they are one of my favorite bands. They were going to have an Anchorage show around ten years ago but it never panned out. They're probably one of the last great 80's metal/rock bands I've never seen live. They're on tour right now, and still sound great. They still tour every few years, so someday I hope, someday! Even if I have to fly to LA or Seattle or something just for it!

Marlons, that's some life you must lead!

Crash907,

Your post sent me down memory lane a bit. My wife has told many here stories of my old box of concert and event tickets from way back when.

I went and looked a few up. Here is just some of what I found.

Found the ticket I was talking about above. Ratt opened for Billy Squier at the other concert.

Pink Floyd Momentary lapse of reason tour! They still used the inflatable pig from the "Animals" album back then. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (circa 1983 "long after the dark tour", it was their first time back in Gainesville (their hometown) since they had gotten famous internationally. I recall Zebra (remember them!) opening for them! Great shows.

Tickets from 1985 Daytona Supercross=$8.00
1983 Gator basketball tickets
1988 Gator Football tickets when Emmitt Smith played for Florida
1982 All Florida Rodeo-This was a regional qualifier. Our FFA chapter won the national championship team roping competition at the Las Vegas finals shortly afterwards.

grew up in Gainesville area. Hard to not be a Gator. I was there way before the Steve Spurier, Urban Meyer & Billy Donovan years and the multiple national championships…in football and basketball.

I wish I'd have thought to save mine. I never really saved anything like that, back then it didn't matter, but would be cool as hell to have now.
