Exclamation Starship Troopers 3: Marauder

Is my new favorite thing.

Go rent it, and get some beer.

Get lots of beer.

We don't talk about it.

You know how The Fast and the Furious was pretty amusing, then the second one was crap, then somehow the third one was good?

This isn't like that at all.

He'll keep spinning until you spell his name right.

I read the book back in grade school. Still one of my favorites.

Marauder does feature powered armor... sort of. But it's pretty bad. Nothing like the cool stuff described in the book, no real mobility or grace, just walking tanks.

Oops.

I like Starship Troopers, but the one I've re-read many times is "The Green Hills of Earth", a short story collection. I think I've read pretty much everything the man ever wrote.

I would love to see a talented screenwriter and director take on Starship Troopers. The recent reincarnation of Battlestar Galactica has shown that sci-fi can be a great vehicle for serious and thoughtful drama.

The book reminded me a lot of Full Metal Jacket. Tough Sarge, and the bootcamp experience bit. Instead of the 'rifle' parts, just insert 'powered armor'. I love the book. The movie was fun, and had some nice boobage, but the book had so much kick-a$$ it was hard to contain. (IMO Halo's Master Chief was a ST ripoff).

Man, I guess I have to add this to my collection just to complete it.

"The only good bug, is a dead bug!"

Yeah, the second one was ****ing terrible. They listened to the geek squad that was crying that the original didn't follow the story close enough. So, they followed the story closer, and it sucked.
