Its an annual police competition that my dept puts on. Only open to cops though. Its at the police academy.

Yeah, didnt do as well as I liked but was probably still in the top third or maybe quarter of the group. I have a video of one of the stages but I cant figure out how to turn the video upright.... Anyone know how?

First box is me shooting the steel poppers in the middle. Second box is strong hand against the far left targets. The black parts represent cover and are misses if hit. Last box is weak hand on the near right targets. Each cardboard target requires at least 2 shots and the best 2 are scored.

Scoring is basic IDPA. Shooting for time, A and B hits give no time, C hits add 1 second, D hits add 2 seconds, misses (not enough shots on target) add 5 seconds and hitting no shoots adds 10 seconds.

Does anyone here have any experience with the FN 5.7? I am really considering that gun instead of a rifle. I would like to hear first hand from those that might have handled one on more than an occasion or two. I really wish Glock would come out with something in that caliber. With that said, that tells me there might be something to that cartridge that gun makers don't like. Thanks in advance.

Its a decent pistol when used in the context that it was designed for. The FN 5.7 pistol and the P90 where made from the PDW interests a while back.

The theory was to give rear echelon troops a smaller weapon than a rifle or carbine, but something that would still have good leathality and armor penetration at distance.

The 5.7 round does this fairly well when using proper military ammunition that you cant buy.

Using commercially available ammo its comparable to a .22 magnum or a 5.56 at about 500 yards.

I have a friend that really likes his 5.7 pistol. It is light recoiling, accurate and holds lots of ammo. Just dont fall into the hype of it being the best thing since sliced bread.

Thanks C-grunt. I definitely don't think it's the best round, but what I like is the speed it travels with the minimal recoil. I just wish the ammo was more readily available hence me not getting it already. I definitely want to research this purchase (next gun) before I get something. I am just too dam slow on deciding what I want.

I could ask my buddy where he gets his ammo from. He buys it online and at a decent price. Its more expensive than 9mm but its really not to bad.

Budsgunshop.com would be a decent place but I dont know if they carry any LWRCi rifles.

Scottsdale Gun Club carries LWRCi and will probably give you a decent trade for the Sig. But remember that they want to make a profit off of your trade so you wont get near what its worth.

Thats sucks about buds, I have heard good things about them. SCG has always given me fair offers on trades, not always the highest but fair.

Dont go to Lone Wolf. I traded my Berreta Stampede recently for a Glock 19. Everyone was quoting me at least 350 for trade and the gunsmith at SGC even offered 400 cash. Lone Wolf, lying as usual, (dont know why I even stopped by) said they would help me out and give me 125 for trade since the Stampedes are "everywhere right now for sale". Funny they didnt have any there....

Yeah I'm going to order my lwrc from buds. Got a really good offer for the sig from a local shop so just going to sell it to them up here in prescott. Weird though...guy was ready to hand me 4 figures in cash and didn't even bother to open the gun and look inside to see if it even had any working parts. Just racked the charging handle a couple times and checked to see if the ****ty included red dot turned on. Don't you think you'd want to at least pull the gas piston out or look at the condition of the internal parts? Maybe check to see if the guy who owns it actually lubricated the moving parts properly?

Maybe I'm just bitter because I spent an hour and a half with q tips and little bits of kitchen scrubber pads getting every bit of the gun spotless inside and out

I could have been playing fallout!
