Give me till the end of the day, I'll let you guys know what I can get.

BTW I have access to a SIG master dealer, so if you want a SIG....
i would have to say good at a fair(ly low as hell) price.

Get a Saiga and convert it. Then you would have an actual Russian AK.

real focus is on the 9mm, (currently up in the air) and the Mini-14.

C-grunt, mgiguere20, what do you guys think would be a good choice for a 9mm handgun? Im looking used, around $350 and less. today i saw a nice satin finish Taurus, the copy of the Baretta 92 for $375. (the name escapes me, is it also M92 for Taurus?) I've heard good things about these but i dont have any experience with them.

I know in the end its up to me, but what have you guys shot/like?

The taurus PT92 is a good gun. Its not a copy of the Beretta it is one. Beretta had a factory in Brazil for a military contract back in like the 70s/80s. They ended up selling the factory and all equipment to Taurus. Taurus has made a few small changes over the years but its still the same fundamental gun.

You could buy a brand new Smith and Wesson Sigma for that price. Not the nicest looking pistol out there but it is reliable and accurate. The only problem I have ever heard about them is the trigger pull is a bit heavy.

A used Smith and Wesson 3rd Gen auto would be a good buy. Many different models in various sizes and calibers.

Also the Stoeger Cougar is a great 9mm in that price range. Same story as the Taurus PT92 except its the Beretta 9000 from Turkey. I had one and it was a great pistol.

EAA Witness line. A good copy of the CZ75. Used around the world for competition guns.

Bersa Thunder. I had one of their .380s a while back that I liked.

Dont overlook a good revolver. J&G has police trade in S&W .38s for $225.

It's fair to say c-grunt has more knowledge than me, my only experience with 9mm handguns is with sigs and glocks, both good, but might be out of your range. You have to go with something that is comfortable in your hands too.

It' true what he says about revolvers, lots of the younger generation over look them because they want high capacity, but they are still fun to shoot and if you can't hit your mark in 5-6(hopefully less) shots you probably shouldn't have a gun, lol

Forgot about the Sig P6. Its a German police trade in and can be had for around 350-400. Euro version of the Sig P225. Probably one of the best deals in autos going.

thanks guys, i would have never taken a second look at any of those guns had you not mentioned them (unless they came up in the threads on perfectunion.com). price if going to be the limiting factor here, and depending what i get to shoot. probably going to be at Caswells this Sunday, trying my hand at killing paper. Hopefully i can find something i like sometime. and i have not ruled out revolvers, i like them as well. my dad has a GP100 that i kinda grew up shooting (more like he finally let me shoot it when i was 21), and i like the idea of a .357, it'll just have to wait.

Question

i tried to hit up Pistol Parlor today in Mesa, but either google maps gave me the wrong address by like, miles, or it just aint there.

speaking of gun stores, any favs out there? do not not say buy from GUNS ETC. because i am not looking to spend +$300 i would anywhere else. great selection, but only because they jack the prices up like mad.

My friend mike, testing out the m203 grenade launcher.

The MK 19 grenade launcher, at the shot show. I would love to use that thing like in the game bad company.

Mk 19s are bad ass but are a pain in the ass to maintain. They require their own special oil/grease to function and they weigh a crap load.

I need to go out shooting with my boss and take a camera. Guy has like 115 guns, bunch of suppressors and a class 3 M203. I really wanna shoot his Sako TRG .308 sniper rifle.

The MK-19 would look great mounted to the top of my jeep. Yes we should all get together and tear some $h*t up. That Sako TRG is a bad a$$ rifle. We have a place out by Buckeye we shoot at, 900-1000yrds. Heading to Sctdl Gun Club tomarrow to pic up some more goodies.
