I should have clarified…I meant go to High Noon to rent some guns and get the feel for what might suit you.

Yeah great info on the local high noon. for concealing I have an old james bond beretta ppk 9mm but I wanted something to keep in the vehicle that's cheap and reliable. I have a friend in oregon that has an awesome arsenol. I think he has an m4 upgraded to a .308, I can't wait to shoot that. It may be my next gun. He served 2 tours in iraq and got hit by 13 ieds in one day. 90% Disability with constant siezures and he's making a full recovery and getting off all pharmaceuticals with medical marijuana. The doctors said his brain would never be able to recover but now he's taking college courses and building web pages.

Walther is correct, I haven't pulled it out for about 10 years. I don't even know exactly what shotguns I do have in the safe. the 2 ton safe has been in the family for years and it hasnt been opened for years. I don't know my guns very well so bare with me.

Also I dont think the PPK was ever made in 9mm Para. It was made in 32 ACP and I believe also 25 ACP and 380 ACP.

I'm pretty sure its a 9mm, I know cuz I got a box of the wrong 9mm rounds for it. Im going to get some ammo for it the next couple days, if my subie doesn't have any issues with a shakedown drive. Ill take a picture of it when I get it out.
Edit* it takes 9mm shorts

Hell yeah! Always wanted to shoot one of those. I've only been shooting my .22's lately. a ruger 10/22 and a revolver. I can sit there and shoot targets all day for 20$. Usually, I go out to dosie pit mine out iron springs rd. Theres a few pits to shoot into out there. I can get there with the lowered ride height, but it could have been washed out. Also I've seen police out there shooting. I got a friend who's about to buy an sti and he's got lots of glocks. He's been talking about going also.

James Bond did carry a Berretta in the first film, Dr. No...It jammed and he was forced to be issued the Walther PPK as a replacement by M.

My understanding is that it is considered the minimum for stopping power, but can be hampered by heavy clothing. Most would recommend that you step up to a 9mm. That said, I've not shot much in 380, and if the recoil is a lot less than 9mm, and I went with a very small pistol, I would prolly consider it.

Its a Beretta, 380. Fun to shoot but I liked the full size glock45 better.

In testing the 380 usually shows to little penetration with hollow points. If I were carrying a 380 I would probably load it with heavy flat nosed FMJs to get good penetration into the vitals.

Yeah, the 380s didn't feel like a lot of power, maybe enough to piss someone off. It was however, easy to shoot accurately. Whereas the glock sights were too blocky for me and I had a hard time getting used to it. It probably just takes more practice with the gun. I will probably seek out some 3 dot sights when I pick up a glock. I may try the smaller version also. I did find a box of 45 hollow points in the old safe, the guy in the shooting range wouldn't let me shoot them but he wanted to trade me all the shooting range ammo for. I figured id keep them for myself since he wanted them so bad.

The 380 is definitely powerful enought to easily kill someone. I would prefer something a bit more but it's nothing to look down on.

As far as the Glock sights go, the factory ones are horrible. Not only because they are hard to use accurately but they are fragile and break off very easily.

Do you recommend any specific sights? I couldn't deal with those factory ones

That's all up to personal preference. I use Heini sights on my work gun and I like them. Trijicon is another really good brand.

With .380 the closer the better and aim for the head. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are an excellent shot, even then only as a backup gun or you need something super small. Where the threat of using the pistol is more of advantage, versus actually having to use it.

Generally the choice to goto .380 comes about because the pistols are smaller. Unfortunately .380 pistols are not reliable, parts are small and break easier, also feeding seems to be problem unless there is a strong recoil sputtering, then it becomes difficult to operate.

9mm is definitely the smallest I would recommend for self defense. If you want small, they're a few options, C3 ARMS usually carries smaller 9mm pistols or I can have Clint order whatever you want.

I should be getting my SBR stamp back (someday) and I was looking for a local shop to do the engraving and to cut and rethread the barrel on my PS90. Any recommendations?

Does anyone know of any websites that you can look up stolen gun serial numbers? I had some guns stolen from me awhile back and I want to see if they pop up any where. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Last time I was at AzFirearms in Avondale they had the short FN barrels there. So you could get a real deal one and not cut yours. You could also talk to Clint at C3 Arms at 35th Ave and Greenway about all class III questions. Really good dude.
