uhhhm why would you want to get 19" wheels? Other then they will be heavy and slow you down?

Default 19's

Better watch you don't get flamed down in smoke, when i posted about 19's thats what happened. Some people are just so jealous you could have something better.
Anyway, been running 19's for 4 weeks without any porblems, they are lighter than the standard 17" rims 215/35x19 tyres no probs, get lowered as soon as springs are available over here.

Go for it and enjoy.

I usually don't post when I see crap like this, but the jealousy comment got to me.

Buddy, wake up. jealousy has NOTHING to do with it. Why would anyone be jealous of someone owning a 19" wheel?

Personally, I wouldn't buy them...but there are a couple of people on this board using them...

Uh, which "standard" 17" rims are you referring to? None of the Subaru 17" wheels (of which none are standard on the WRX in the US) weigh in the 20 lb. range. The optional BBS 17" wheels are MUCH lighter than that.

Run 19" wheels, that's fine with me, you'll just find that most people on this board are less "show" and more "go". MOST 19" wheels definitely fall into the "show" category. If that's what you like more power to you, but when you post here, you are inviting criticism.

Are those Axis wheels cast or forged? If they are cast are you sure that they weigh in the low 20s? That seems awfully light.

Well apparently your phat dope 19"s are better then my 3 sets of 16s with race tires

I am curious why you would get 19" wheels. I mean big weels are cool and all, but there is a point where you get TOO much! 17" wheels are cool, they look cooler then my 16" wheels and I would have gotten 17" wheels if not for the fact that I can't race in my class on them. 18" wheels are on the big side. I don't see any benefit to a 18" over a 17". Then you go to 19" wheels? why? Will a car handle better on 215/35x19 tires then on my 225/50/16 considering the same type of tire? Probably, but there will be NO difference in handling vs a 225/40/18 or so tire on a 18" wheel.

Then you run into the tire prices.
You are spending $45 more a tire then a 18 or 17" tire.
why?

Just give me an explanation other then "they are bling bling" or "they look phat" and I will agree with you.

WHY YOU ALL HAVE TO HATE. if i like the 19s I will get them. I was just asking the people that HAVE them, their opinion. And thank you all for your opinion but there is no need to hate. ALSO LOOK AT THE TITLE. I was wondering what the ride quality and problems are with them and this question was directed towards people rolling on 19s. So the rest of you people thank you for your opinoin butr lets stick to the subject, and if u wanna say all the bad things about 19 go make your own thread and do it there. Thanks

My 17 inch wheels cost far far more than your 19s
They will also outperform you in any test of performance.

Im sorry, we just don't have much respect for the "bling bling" crowd here.

you don't need technical advice if you want to be bling bling anyway, I don't see why its a big deal.

go impress your ghetto booty with the big ole 19s.
its a waste of money for any other purpose tho.

i guess you cant read. if i like 19s i WILL GET THEM and no one asked for your opinion because you dont have 19s. AND IF I WANT MY WRX TO BE BLING BLING IT WILL BE THAT WAY BECAUSE I PAYED 24K AND I WILL DO WHATEVER I WANT TO IT. IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH ME THAN DONT LOOK OR POST AT THIS POST BECAUSE I AM TALKING TO PEOPLE THAT AGREE WITH ME AND LIKE 19S. Thank you for your opinion and you DONT have to insult me because my "ghetto booty with the big ole 19s" can lay the smack down on you booty.

P.S. I am not ghetto i just like the 19s Axis Hagens and they dont make them any other size. PEACE

Have a Nice Day?

Hello all!

I'm new to the Scooby Scene. I couldn't help but throw in my $0.02.

We all drive our cars for different reasons. Some like performance, some like looks, some like both. Who cares whether someone wants to put 19's on their car... or hydraulics... or 15" rims that stick out... or a hood scoop that's nonfunctional... or stickers all over advertising what you've got to thieves... or whatever? Is it your money that's paying for it? No! So why do you guys care so much? What's that? You don't? Oh....

Don't bother giving anyone a reason. Just do what you're going to do, ignore all the close minded responses from people who think THEY know what YOU should do with YOUR car and YOUR money, and enjoy YOUR ride!

Best regards,

Frantz

I HAVE 19'S cause i didnt know any better when i bought them, i've always had big wheels, i have 22's on my X5. if i had another chance i would do 18's on my wrx, but i'm pretty happy with my 19's 225/35/19 so either way..to each his own, nice wheels are nice wheels no matter what size they are, i respect everyones preferences.

turbotaz - Ya got me on that non-functional hood scoop!

516_WRX - But we can still be jealous that you drive an X5 also!

nevzwrx - I have 18x8 for the street and 17x7.5 for the track. Be sure to take a look at what kind of tire selection you will have if you go to 19s. Of course, the standard caveats in terms of proper offset, especially if you are lowering your WRX. I can also tell you from personal experience that the weight can really make quite a difference. When taking into account weights, be sure to take the wheel & tire combined weight into account, so that you're comparing apples to apples. Whatever you decide, we wanna see some pics!

Hey. Those are nice looking wheels.

How are the roads down in San Fran? Sometimes I wish I had the 15's off my old Subaru around here. Potholes and road imperfections and all.

Too bad those wheels don't come in smaller sizes.

Check out www.garagespl.com. Take a look at the black WRX with 19's. To be honest, this car really turned me onto the WRX. While I'd never buy wheels that large, the car looks very nice.

personally, I think those wheels look a little silly because you've go so much scrawny brake showing through the spokes. If you get those wheels, you really should upgrade to massive drilled rotors and giant brembo calipers (definitely in red). THEN you'll be adding some serious weight! And some serious cost.
