Looks like an old "Torque chip" or PROEcm chip too me. Give Suby Sports a call they might beable to help verify it's that.

I have the factory alarm system so it shouldn't be an alarm system. My car has the stock cd player with the sub woofer option. When i bought the car, it already had an MRT Turbo back exhaust. I guess i could unhook the unit and see if i notice anything different peformance wise or whatever. I haven't driven another REX (stock) so i don't know a baseline from the butt dyno. Also, what pisses me off about this car is that all of the cool easy mods such as the grounding and silencer mod have already been done. Anyways if anyone could identify the mysterious black box i would greatly appreciate it.

It had 9500 miles on it. I've had it since Dec and it now has 20000. BTW. I have no boost gauges.

What you should have done while photographing the ECU was to take note of the pins the black box wires are hooked to. Then use the ECU info from Ravenblade page and you're likely get a good idea what the box does. I'm thinking it's either a combo Fuel Cut Defencer and Rev/Speed Meter kit .. too many wires for just FCD.
