Default WTS 2006 WRX CGM *low miles*

Hey guys/gals,

The wife and I have been talking for a while about the possibility of getting rid of my car. We had a baby in July and we would like get rid of this so we can get a small SUV, something more practical for a family. I know eventually I will end up back in a Subaru, hopefully a LGT.

I am not looking to trade because I have a lien on the car as it is. I will get an accurate payoff here in the 15th, I believe it is roughly 18k left.

Details about the car

2nd owner, purchased at 11k miles. (APR 08)
2006
Subaru
Impreza WRX
Crystal Gray Metallic
5 M/T
27,5xx miles
No accidents. Clean Title.
(PM for VIN#)
Extended warranty to 60k miles or 2015!

This pic is about 1 year old but other then the tint and the blacked out headlights it is the same. I will get more photos as soon as I get back in country.

The Good:
Non-smoker
I have babied this car since I have owned it.
Never raced, never launched, never grinded gears, nothing.
Oil Changes every 3k miles along with tire rotations. Still stock tires with over 60% tread-life left.
Only a few small mods has been done to the car.

Exterior 9/10 (scratches only)
Interior 9/10

I have added a few parts, basically stage 2.

The vehicle came with the SPT package.

Currently installed on the car is:

Engine:
Cobb APV2 (purchased 1 dec 09) 695$ from cobb tuning
ERZ v2 cast bellmouth downpipe with CEL fix (purchased 1 dec 09) 179.00$ from ERZperformance
HKS Carbon TI Catback -has roughly 10k miles on it. (699$)
STI TMIC w/stock bpv(purchased 1dec 09) from Nasioc Member (250$)
Denso Platinum TT spark plugs
Royal Purple 5-30 synthetic oil
K&N Gold Oil Filter

Misc:
I made a fiberglass subwoofer enclose for a 10" sub which is in the back corner of the trunk *right tail light corner (90$)
400x1 Alpine amp (180$)
10" infinity preference sub (100$)
Pioneer FH-P8000BT double din head unit (329$)
Custom LED footwell lighting (blue) wired into the dome to fade with doors. (20$)
Blacked out headlights (20$)
05 tail lights traded
15% tint all around (240$ lifetime warranty @ accurate tint)
STI limited wing (230$)
debadged trunk (still has Subaru symbol and keyhole)
Eibach pro springs (225$)

The bad:

The car has road rash on 2 wheels from the previous owner. Nothing too bad, I just prefer none.
There is also a scratch on the right sideskirt underneath where he got too close to a curb and scratched along it. Its not too bad, no cracks or anything just a scratch. You can only see it when you lay next to the car.
A few small chips in the paint in the front bumper from normal daily driving.
The drivers floormat needs to be replaced from all the studs on the bottom rubbing off.
The glove box and the hvac console face have a small scratch in it.

All OEM parts that I have will be included with the sale/transfer of lienholder.

As you can see I have invested a lot of time and about 2000$ into the car which I don't expect to benefit from. I just hope the car can find a good home, so maybe one day I will see it at a Subaru meet in the future.

If someone takes over your payments and you're still on the loan, you're still responsible for the payments. I'd just sell it. Have you tried Carmax?

I don't know if carmax would cover my payoff. I can't afford to drop 2k to cover the payoff.

Unless you get this person to take over the loan, I mean get their name on the loan. If they stop paying, the finance company's going to go after you. Basically having someone take over the payments is the same as renting it to them. You'll still have to keep full coverage insurance on it and you'll have make sure this person makes the payments. What are you going to do if they stop making payments on the car? They're not at any risk.

I had a feeling you were under-water on the car. I'd say just keep it and deal with the size thing. If you can't eat $2k then you can't afford a new car.

Your other option is to go buy the SUV, trade this in and roll the negative equity into the new car loan. The new loan and the trade-in are used to pay off the old loan and buy the new car. You'll just be getting deeper in the hole though. The negative equity means you'll be underwater much longer on the SUV than you normally would be.
