Default weight reduction

I didnt know where to post this but i was wondering what you guys are doing to lose weight. Is it all in the interior and suspension or is there more?

Google: Anorexic STi

The first result should be an IWSTI.com post. The dude took EVERYTHING out of his car and weighed it.

I did some of the stuff he listed and my bugeye w/STi drivetrain +brakes is now 2990lb w/a half tank.

EDIT:
For reference,
I took out: rear seats, child anchors, everything in the trunk, glove box weight, radio, speakers, all sound sound deadening in doors, firewall mat, front bumper beam.

I added: FMIC, 11.5lb battery, big turbo, some gauges, wheels, BBK, STi trans/diff/hubs/axles

Front and rear bumper beams, subframe, rear seats, spare tire / jack etc. rear interior pieces, rear seat belts.. lightweight battery, remove AC, radio, amp, speakers etc. That's probably the easiest stuff that makes a pretty decent difference. Beyond that things are going to start getting pretty crude inside..

There is no way your car was 3080lbs with all that stuff in it, before you did any weight reduction. As you said, the car starts at 3185. You took out the jack and spare, but added a guitar and golf clubs, but somehow lost 105lbs? I think you need to try a few more scales...

My sti with me, a helmet, and laptop in it with full tank was 3625 brand new.

When I was tracking the car frequently, my weight with laptop and helmet came down to 3247.

Lighter exhaust
lighter suspension
lighter battery
80% less fuel
front seat out
glove box out
back seat out
bumper beams out
rear seat support out
rear seat cross membering out
sound ded out
spear tire out
jack and tool out
wing off
trunk swaped for carbon fiber
lightweight pulley.

I never got to run my car balls out at the 3247 weight.

The lightest I ever ran at was ~3300, and went 12.0 @ 113.

The year previous the weight was ~3375 and went 12.0 @ 114.

100 lbs wont do much. Im sure if I ran at 3600+ i would have been in the 12.2-12.3 range.

These cars are not easy to drop weight off of. I like to think ive done a decent bit of weight reduction on my car it still weights 3185 with me in it, i weight around 155 lbs. Granted i still have full interior plus the added weight off a cage, but removing the rear interior doesnt gain you much of anything.

Is the car a daily driver? Removing safety items should influence your decision as to what you'll remove.
