If it wasn't for those Sierra Club idiots, Governer Leavitt's original proposal would be done by now and we'd have a 3 lane highway going from Davis County down into Utah county

There were idiots on both sides of that debate. The initial plan to straight bulldoze the wetlands wasn't very smart. But the idea that Legacy needed to be stopped at all costs because it would create sprawl (thereby leaving Davis County with no outlet but I-15 in case of a natural disaster/emergency) was also dumb.

The road as it exists now is low-impact, well designed and actually protects migratory birds by way of the massive roadkill of invasive predators. It also helps prevent the daily grind that was the I-15 logjam in North Salt Lake.

Okay, hijack over. On the original topic - news today is UDOT is claiming the change to the HOV lanes would be "too confusing" for drivers and the new signage would cost too much money.

open them, how do we make it happen now? petition? is there one going? lets get together and push the issue.

i wholly agree that no crossing the double yellow is good, and that cops should ticket(or at least launch a seat-belt like campain threatening to) people going slower in the left most lane. yes, you are going 65, maybe 70, no, that doesn't mean your holier than though attitude is ok and that you are trying to make a better world by not letting people speed. i don't care if you are going 90 and they are doing 95, let them pass, then go back to doing 90.

on that note idaho drivers seem to follow this rule in idaho, why the f they don't as soon as they cross the border to ut boggles my mind. really?????

<end rant>
