Default 2.5i wrx header project

i live in california so i need to have 2 cats on my car to pass smog. want to know if anyone has done the wrx header mod on a 2.5i. if so how did you make it work for california emissions? did you add a high flow cat after the header but before the stock cat? thanks for the input

What? OBDII and OBDI are completely different OnBoardDiagnostic systems..your cats are not "OBDII" and "OBDI"

That's true. Maybe someone was referring to the fact that if your car has an OBD II system, it is illegal to install a third-party cat.

I believe that as far as emissions go, if the sensor they use top test says you pass, then you pass.

Why not run a Borla knock-off (ie: ebay) header designed for NA Subarus with a stock '98-'05 RS cat pipe? You'll get the rumble and at most you'll need to have the cat pipe flange rotated.. as opposed to building a custom cat section.

Either way, you probably aren't going to pass the Cali visual inspection.
