Hi everyone,

I want to clean my oil control valves, can anyone shed some light on how I could do that? I have a 2011 STi. Thanks

Why? And what valve are you speaking of? Avcs oil pressure bypass valve? Cylinder head oil jacket valve?

This. The OCVs are the heart of the AVCS system, and they need to be working properly to ensure overall vehicle operation.

As was said, they're only ~$100/each, anyhow, and they are a 75k wear item, so, definitely worth replacing. Besides - They're super easy to replace!

Try here: http://parts.bestbuysubaru.com/p/Sub...wd=&origin=pla

$75/pop - Cheaper than mine for the 05-09 LGT (for whatever reason)

Sidenote/Shamless Plug: Heuberger Subaru kicks ass.

Upper right, #2. You'll find them behind the TGVs. Shoudn't take but about an hour to replace both, altogether. You'll need to be prepared to tug on 'em a little bit, too, as, they like to stick in their spot. It's OK, just pull straight out!

You'll need a 10mm quarter or three-eighths drive, and maybe a 6in extension. Best use a stubby ratchet, no need for a full length - not alot of force or leverage needed.
