Great torque numbers! but isn't the FMIC wayyyy overkill on the td04? the torque peaks pretty late for such a small turbo. I would think you stuck with the stock turbo for its streetability because your parts list definitely says you had $ for a new turbo.

ya the fmic and ewg are kinda overkill but i am actually planning on going to either a evo3 16g, 18g or hta68 down the road and then seeing where the cars reliability takes me from there.

also the wastegate seems to be partially opening earlier than it should because i bought the wastegate used and i think the spring in there is not the one i though/the seller told me it was. which may be why the boost comes on relatively late for a td04.

as for the money part I've been slooowly piecing this together i could've purchased a bigger turbo a long time ago instead of some of the other stuff but i figured I'd do everything possible before getting the new turbo to make it really worth it.

18g FTW! Love mine for a daily driver. Not sure about the HTA68

I've been looking at some numbers of the 3 turbos I'm looking at and it seems all of them are going to make only slightly higher tq numbers (i know plenty more hp) than i am now unless i run e85 or higher octane gas. anyone have any comments on that? it almost seems like it might be worth it to go with a 20g or hell why not a rotated 30r instead until the motor/tranny blows so that there is actually a real increase in the tq department? or will the fact that it carries all the way to redline on the evo3/18g/hta68 make it worth it anyway?

Your car is a fun car. The 20g would make a very fun, very useable powerband. search and se if C4ninja has posted any dyno sheets on here his car on a stock 2.5 block. top mount and supporting mods made 347/354 tq at 20psi

ya i really don't know right now...
i'll probably end up sticking with the evo3 or the hta68 since they're both a good bit cheaper than the 18g and 20g. also i'd like to keep the stock motor/tranny for as long as possible. then again if that last statement was true i wouldn't be moding it

oh and robbie i ended up getting the LC patch to work. i had to transfer over all the tables to a newer revision map which sucked but it was worth it.

On the 2.0L it's hard to beat a properly setup 18g/EvoIII 16g. I ran 11's all day long on that setup. On pump gas I made 305hp and 291 tq. Get it drunk on alky and it wakes up.

You don't look at the peak numbers....you look a the entire area under the curve to see how it reacts.

Congrats on the numbers. Solid for a td04.

Holy crap!! That's awesome. We had a local kid trying to yank as much power as he could out of the stock 2.0L. Aside from the ported intake manifold, tgv deletes, larger EWG you guys had an identical parts list. Last I knew he was somewhere in the 230hp/lb-ft area on a dyno where a typical stage 2 WRX makes 210hp and a stage 2 STi makes 245hp. Unfortunately he had a rather close encounter with a guard rail on the freeway .

Anywhoo...looks like a whole lot of fun!

ya that sounds like what i want to do. except instead of alky i'll probably get a separate tune for e85 since the evo3 and hta68 seem to respond really really well to it.

those are some good numbers... what kinda dyno?

It was a dynojet but this tells you more.....set the record at 11.7 @ 122 mph.

I have a 2003 wrx with tbe uppipe and cai. It seems we have a similar tune since we are both running 20psi. I will have to dig up my dyno sheet but it was also on a mustang dyno and I put down 240hp and 270trq. It was about 100F in the dyno room. I will post back up when I find my dyno sheet and get it scanned.

If I can find it, I'll post my sheet from 6200ft on my old td04. 263whp corrected and 351ft/lbs of wtq on E85.
