Default Launch Control

Does anyone actually use the "launch control" feature on their v2 AP's? Is it a useful feature or something that sounds nice as a feature?

It works well and its nice in auto-x and if you're drag race.

Allows you to build boost and take off the line faster.

Agreed! but the 5spd won't put up with it for very long!

Sounds awesome, and builds boost before you start moving.

I've had LC for a couple of years, open source but its the same thing. I use it every once in a while, mostly just for fun when I'm bored PPG's tho.

If you know how to launch it correctly, it'll be fine. But if you're like me, I don't know how to so I don't want my tranny to explode

I have it on ECUTek. It's pretty awesome. It's not that bad on your gears as long as you slip the clutch a bit. I mostly use it to scare off Civics and Integras at stop lights. I rarely need to take off that fast.

cheers

Default what rpm?

for an 04 STi running full TBE, uppipe, and intake. what rpm would result in the best launch for launch control?

No problems here (06 WRX). The main time I use it is during an Autocross race. As long as you don't have the factory clutch it will be fine.
I launch mine at 5600 RPM and flat foot shift set at 5900 RPM. This also keeps the boost up.
