I officially have an admin team and we are working on putting things together. I dont have any specific details yet, but I am trying to get a decent gauge of how many people would actually want to run in a RallyCross event in the Phoenix area. The reason this is important is due to the cost to get permits for the land use as well as other expenses that will be involved... obviously with fixed expenses, the more people, the cheaper we can make it for everyone.

More details will follow as they become available.

most RallyX is all off-road, but more like dirt/mud off-road rather than uneven terrian such as potholes and large rocks. I suspect it'll be similar to these:

Oh helz yes!

If I can work around needing to feed an aviary of birds every morning (and some again at night), I will even volunteer for course prep.

The course is still TBD. That is the next step that needs to be taken. We have a few ideas in mind, but we REALLY have to get a good idea of how many people are actually going to run so we can figure out how much it will be per driver for rental of the land as well as insurance.

The design will be set up so ANY car will be able to negotiate the course. This is not the X-Games or stage rally kind of set up. Its a "run whatcha brung" kind of race.

If you like sliding around sideways, this is a good LEGAL way to do it in a controlled environment.

Side note for those of you concerned with messing up paint:

Masking tape does wonders

(before the race that is... not being ghetto afterwards...unless thats how you roll)

any estimate on cost? I'd love to participate, but if it's going to be comparable to all the NASA events, $160 for a day would leave me broke.

Hopefully I can address everything here:

Date: TBD - we are currently in the very beginning stages of this

Cost: That is why I started this thread is to see if we could even afford to put the event together (the more people we have, the cheaper we can get the price). I would love to give you an estimate on the pricing, but I would hate to say something lower and have that change. From my experience, events can be put together for about $50-$75 pp. The price will also change if people are interested in getting any kind of awards for the events. We are going to do our best to get sponsors to cover prizes.

Again guys, this may be a bit out, but we are going to make damn sure it happens.
