Accessport question and search function fail

New to the accessport thing here and wanted to know if the little grey box connected to the OBD II with a female mini-usb can be removed without effecting the protune. <-- please don't laugh if i am being bluntly stupid, i know it is probably just an adapter, just wanted to make sure

Also i have searched extensively but cannot find the Accessport thread in the gallery with pictures of how people mount them and where. Thank you in advance

Yeah, you dont have to keep that on there, its just for when you have the accessport connected.

to mount it. I bought one similar to this. It had a weaker AC vent mounting bracket that broke easily. The one in the link looks more durable. Can't expect much for a buck
