Subaru Stars Trying to put a 2003 WRX 6-disc in a 97 impreza L

Hey all,
I searched and looked in the FAQ's before making a new thread, but couldn't find an answer to this question.

I have a 2003 WRX with the 6-disc changer and a 97 Impreza L for a daily driver. I want to put a new alpine headunit in to the WRX, and I'm wondering if the 6-disc can go into the L without too much work. I know that there is a double-din space so it will physically fit in there, but what I dont know is whether the connectors are the same, or if I will have to do some crazy harness set up.

Any help would be appreciated, and if someone finds the answer with a quick search, feel free to post a link to the thread in here. I'd rather feel dumb and have an answer than keep my pride and remain ignorant.
Thanks in advance.

Ok so in this thread:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=749402

I saw that it said that most Subarus 1995-2007 use the same 14-pin connector plug, and that it should work.
Nevertheless, if somebody knows for certain I'd love some confirmation.

The plugs are the same, just use the radio brackets from the L (the holes should line up)
