I don't know what you're talking about but we have several places in southern california to go snowboarding/skiing (Big Bear, Snow Valley, Mtn High, Mt. Baldy).. and Mammoth which has ridiculous snow right now is an easy 5 hour drive (no mountain roads).

I like the fact that I can go the beach in 10 minutes, find some mountain biking or trail running trails a few miles away (all year round).. ride a motorcycle (did I mention year round?) and not have to deal with shoveling snow, yet drive a couple hours to go snowboarding in the winter.

And what about the variety of food?

'Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it'

Good riddance. There is no reason you need to drive your car to the gym and park on the street in the middle of your suburban neighborhood. *I'm looking at you person 3 houses down.*

That sort of attitude is exactly what CA needs. No one should move here. It is too damn crowded and our government is owned by developers.

I am 100x happier now than I don't live in OC or LA where I have to drive everywhere. Public transportation is much easier, much cheaper, and makes much more sense. Southern California needs to get that through their heads. Rush hour in the bay means you have to sit next to someone on the BART. Rush hour in LA means gridlock until 7:30, and then you can resume driving home.

Couldn't agree more. Too damned crowded. They are spending boat loads of money on freeway expansions, but 0 dollars on public transportation here in San Diego. I wish they'd do like Pasadena and run commuter trains down the freeways. They keep building Huge Condoplexes in downtown, then give them a crappy one car per unit garage for a 23 story building. So it equals tons of cars on the street, so you can't open commuter lanes (all curb parking turns into traffic lanes) for rush hour traffic Our traffic is getting close to L.A traffic.

This is probably why they are doing this.... to charge people for parking thinking it will Revenue more money for the state/city.... Geezus this is stupid and sucks if it passes...

Yea they can try but unless it has a meter or attendent. I really don't see them trying to buy that many parking meter's for the street.

It will probably be more of a permit thing for the residential areas. As far as meters and park-pay-display zones... Well, visit downtown San Diego some time.

All these stupid regulation is nothing but a ploy to get more tax payer money. For those who think that this stupid law or even mass transit will make people drive less is simply wrong. Just look at Chicago even with mass transits system, $60 per year to park on the street + meter fee, its freeway is still jam packed with car and traffic jam is worst then LA. Car is convenient, pleasant and to us car lover it is also a source of joy. Who ever want to bike or run or take a bus to work are welcome to do so, save us some gasoline.
That jerk who propose this law will be kicked out of office the next election.

Have you not seen the latest technology they're been posting up? One computerized Meter Box for 25+ parking spaces in the city. It's stupid. They're just going to run people away from local/public shops. I do the majority of my shopping online on Amazon or anywhere I can get free shipping and tax free goods. I can't wait for amazon to have an online grocery store
