Default trade 05 sti for 10 legacy 2.5 gt

My wife is pressuring me to get a family car over my sti even though the car seat fits. I'm very torn but 2.9 % on a turbo legacy seems like a possible fit minus some obvious performance. Anyone test drove the legacy turbo. I'm afraid the performance drop will make me sick for letting the sti go.

I had an 07sti. i traded for 08 legacy gt spec b. had the sti trani and suspencion on it. Traded for similar reasons (girl related) i loved the interior and the way it felt. i had the spt intake and spt cat-back. when it comes to performance i was disapointed. im back to an sti. dont get rid of it unless you dont mind getting rid of performance and agresiveness.

I guess we all have to make sacrifices . But you have to do what you have to do so I think the legacy GT is a logical choice. I sat in one its very nice, and I do like the new styling (The older one is raw tho). You going to get a six-speed or auto tranny?

I think the 2010 is a 6 speed only. Another reason i'm doing it is the economy. I can get a good trade in on the sti and a low rate which means more car for the money.

I test drove it and i didnt really like how BIG it was. I liked the previous design much better however i did not fit in the '09 seats. The new seats are really nice, the interior in general is great and the ride was nice too but it was just too big. I felt like i was driving a whale with a 6speed. If i'd wanted something that big and un-sporty i would have got a V-6 accord. Anyways it wasnt for me i went with a new STi instead. Not quite the family cruiser but its got a big hatch for strollers and bags and plenty of room for 2 car seats.

i'd get the 09 spec b if you can. were only talking around 40 horse to the sti, im pretty sure the weight is similar.

So, exhaust, intake, and a little boost and your well over sti numbers.

2005 sti is 3300 lbs

2010 legacy 6 cylinder with automatic is 3600 lbs. i'd say the 6 spd with the 4 banger is gonna be around 3400lbs, not sure though.

I just test drove the 2010 LGT this past weekend. I had an 06 STi. You will definately miss the power. The LGT is big inside and out. Interior is nice althought I'm not a big fan of the woodgrain (I'd take the brushed aluminum look offered in the LGT Premium package over the Limited). Really cushy ride, plenty of room, 60/40 split rear fold down seats. Did I mention it has a lot of room? Yeah, the baby seat fits in the STi, but then the seat in front of it is pushed all the way forward making for an uncomfortable front seat passenger. Don't think the Subie Engineers took that into consideration when they designed the 04-07 STi. You may want to take a look at the 2010 WRX hatch. bring the child seat and the wife with you and put them both in. See if you have enough room. Still has enough power to satisfy, sans all the cush that the LGT has. Either that or get the wife the 2010 Outback (Very R-O-O-M-Y) and keep your STi. Just a thought. Let us know what you decide on.

Get the wife an Outback. My co-worker bought one. Super roomy in the back for two car seats and the front passenger seat is still usable.
