First..your going to need a rom reader. You will also need a map for your car. Also depending on what kind of car you have you will have to de-solder the ROM off of the ecu.The maps are a series of zeros and ones..Also it can't be done with the new WRX "yet"....Gerry

I`m still working on the 94 impreza with the full throttle bog problem.I think the problem is in the ecu with the programing.
I read somwhere that the ecu will retard the timing at full throttle due to no knock sensor on the 1.8L.So I`m thinking of tinkering
with the chip side of things.
Is there a special binary code to read the maps.

That is next on tuesday.
I talked it over with my partner and we are going junkyard hunting for a 2.2l legacy harness and ecu.
Will be swapping the whole think over.
Import shootout is next Saturday and I need to get this project
running correctly.
Gerry if you could guild me on how to remapp the ecu that would be very helpful.

Wow, that's so wow. I wish I was as smart as you guys. Could you guys build me a chip adapter and a EZ windows based program so people who aren't so cranial endowed could pretend they could reprogram there own ECU?
