I bought the APv2 from Surgeline about a year ago and I'm just now to the point of using it on my project. This was due to a long build process of swapping an 05' wrx motor and wiring into a 97' LGT.
Anyways, I got the break in map from Surgeline and started using the AP and liked the ability to raise the idle and pull timing for bad fuel with the "ECU Settings" on the Menu. I decided to update the AP today since it was purchased a year ago, and now that feature seems to have dissapeared from the menu? The original info before updating: serial #: 1110003313 Dongle: v0.41 Firmware: v. 1.2.8.1-7013 Is this no longer available? Also, I have a question as to what parameters does an 05' wrx ECU need to go into OPEN LOOP? I was driving on the break-in map for the new motor and setting my Mechanical boost pressure on the EWG, and it was holding the AFR's in the mid 14's even at 10 psi, so the car was kinda not happy and surging just begging for more fuel. I stayed in it long enough to see the info on my scanner switch to Open Loop at like 5k and then it immediately dropped to mid 12's and smoothed out and ran really good. So it seems it is staying in closed loop for too long and causing it to run leaner than it needs for 10psi. Shouldn't it go to Open Loop when you get into boost? What parameters makes it switch into Open Loop other than a certain RPM? Can you change those parameters to make it go to open loop when you want? I called Surgeline and left a message with a non-technical guy and he was going to have someone else get back to me about that on my map. I have the stock long block in the car now, because I wanted to test the wiring job, set my mechanical boost pressure, and make sure everything is perfect before I swap in the built long block and start break-in. I didn't want to start the new, expensive motor with any unknowns or bugs to work out. In my mind mid 14.5:1 AFR at 10 psi with the car bucking a little is not going to work for breaking in my new motor. Any thoughts on these issues?
