Default So heres a cool story...

This story I hope will discourage any of you who flash your highbeams at people for doing stupid crap like cutting you off or just driving like an asshat... and heres why

So last night when i was driving east down the 60 somewhere around country club rd. about 8:30 at night with very light traffic, i was cruisin about 70-75 in the fast lane. This honda civic was in the right lane next to me, now mind you there are 3 wide open lanes, but this guy decides to cut me off at the very last second and hes probly doing about 65. So i flashed my highbeams at him and went around him, and got my speed back up to about 75 or so and notice that this dude is speeding up to me on the left side now and then pacing me. I look over and the guy is pointing a F***ing gun at me!!!! So i now have to make a quick choice, do I 1: slow down enough to maybe just pit this douche? or 2: speed up and get away from him? or 3: just slow down and get beind him? So i chose option 3 and slowed down to about 45 while he is slowing down trying to get next to me again, but i kept him in front of me while i called the cops to give them his plate #'s and car discription. Then he ended up exiting on Stapely rd. after a lot of back and forth slowing down and speeding back up. but the whole time i was behind him i couldnt help but to home this guy doesnt start shooting like out the window at me while im following him. So yeah as he is exiting the freeway hes taunting me to follow him, which dispite all of what i had just seen and delt with, i found kinda humorous, cause i mean, come on really guy? yes actually i should follow you off the freeway so we could fight like real men, then you could pull a gun on me like a *****.

So yeah moral of the story, be careful at who you flash your lights at or dont flash your lights at people unless you know they are really old or women

Sounds like the guy was purposely looking for trouble the way he cut you off.
It reminds me of the stories out here in LA a few years back guys would drive with their lights off waiting for people to flash them and go chase them down sometimes unfortunatly shooting them.

Glad to see your ok and hopefully this bastard pays. Hopefully law enforcement pursues him, but that will cost them money and they would much rather pull you over for window tint or speeding so they can earn some money.

Had this happen the other day some "Gangsta" pulled into my lane turning right onto the road. I had to nail my brakes not to hit him, then I see him look in his mirror right after and I am still on his bumper cause he just cut me off and thinks I am tailgating and slams on his brakes. Luckily he was in a Pos mustang I hit my brakes and swerved right only to find him swerving right trying to get me to hit him. He gest stuck behind a bus and I was able to get back in the left lane and keep going. Look in my mirror and what do you know he is flying up in the other lane. I didnt want to take a chance of a gun like you had so as soon as he got close I nailed my brakes, flipped a u turn and took off. He tried to stop and flip it but think he realized had no chance to catch up.

While back I had a guy pull up on side of me after I got off the freeway and said" You think you are so badass with your loud exhaust" I did the wrong thing and laughed at him and he didnt take it so nicely got behind me at the light and starts reaching in his glovebox. I have to take off, run over a median sign. I got away but also got arrested for reckless driving and hit and run for the sign.

Lesson is to always contact the police if involved in any road rage you will have leverage if anything does happen.

Amen brotha. Its probably the PTSD. That what my doctors told me. I guess its not normal to have several handguns around the house and a M4 ready to rock with two reloads??

But when Charlie comes a knockin, Ill be ready.

we had some similar stuff last night, I was turning onto the street I live on from a 3 lane road and some flat-billed d-bag (w/ the biggest so cal sticker ever!) in a civic came across 3 lanes last min into the turn lane and hit his brakes, I slowed down no problem, and me and my friend just laughed it off. Then 2 seconds later he pulls completely off the road (i figured no big deal)... so I went by, then he comes up on me and drives into on-coming traffic and starts taunting me asking me if I wanted to fight, Of course I obliged him and pulled over so the **** storm could ensue, I started to get out, he told me how bad he was gonna mess me up dropped a dozen f bombs, I invited him over and he sped off...

Funny part is my friend ridding with me is a sheriff, and apparently to has 30 days to mail him a ticket (this I did not know!) needless to say a multitude of violations went out in the mail today when he got to work! HAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAA. it just doesn't get any better.

I here ya we like guns up north too.... alot! and we were what you would call prepared for long cover if the situation arose when I exited the vehicle.
AND its perfectly normal to have handguns, m4's and a tac. shoot gun @ the ready, at least me and all my friends seem to think so!

This is what happened to my car after my buddy flipped off a psycho. I must laugh at everyone who thinks that carrying a gun in their car is going to make them safe on the road because idiots can use thier cars as a deadly weapon as well (see above photo)

is that the kid w/ that used to have the train horns??? sad... hope insur. covered it!
-There is always a factor of the "unknown" but I'd rather be a little more prep'd then not at all.

What are you going to do? Shoot at someone from your car? Or stop and then shoot them? Have fun convincing a jury there was no other alternative but to shoot the guy... You paranoid gun toters are every bit as scary as the looneys.

Of coarse my insurance covered it, and the guy went to jail. Once again prepaired to do what? If you were in the situation I was in what would you do? It happened in a split second, even if I had a damn .50 cal mounted on the top it wouldn't have done me any good.

i think SCIC is hiring lobbyists

you think youre better off in a confrontation completely unarmed? he wouldnt have had a driving shoot out, you pull over and get your weapon, if they pull over, you actually dont have much of a choice but to shoot them. if you run, you just gave them a tactical advantage by letting them be the car in back. if you think you can outrun someone by having a fast car, just remember how many people with fast cars still get caught by crown vics.

btw those paranoid gun toters are the reason youre not bowing down and worshipping allah right now, hippie.

Your missing the point, but nice to see you again, and thanks for being so defensive.

-"....unknown..." (def: not within the range of one's knowledge, experience, or understanding; strange; unfamiliar.) I was trying to express the fact that you were unable to predict that some ass would run into you. this applied to your situation and I was sorry to hear of your loss, however that wasn't a norm or a constant in road rage type scenarios, was it? Nor is anything for that matter.

-- by Prepared meant have immediate access to a firearm (this obviously wouldn't have helped in your situation) However that's not to say it wouldn't help defuse another one. (I do not condone this route unless you are of level mind during hi-stress situations, can asess the "threat" and surroundings, weigh consequences, and are practiced in the use of a firearm in similar scenarios)(it can work for some but not all.)

---I am not fully aware of the exact situation you were in, so I can't advise, sorry. It does sound quite unavoidable though. (cause for the insurance question)

Are you working in chino these days? (i see a 90's legacy out here a lot I take it that's you...). if so i'm out there a lot for work, we should do lunch, hit me up whenever.
