Some people expressed interest in an Airsoft team so here is a little information:
Minimum requirements: AEG (see below - there is usually a chrono limit ex. 350fps) 4-6 magazines for AEG (low-mid capacity) 2 batteries for AEG .20-.25 bbs (check the Tactical vest/LBV (to store magazines, other equipment) Boots Eye protection (must meet ANSI Z87.1-2003 ballistic rating) Dead rag Optional items: GBB pistol (see below) BDU/ACU - depending on the scenario this might be a requirement Optics Commo gear Local companies: APD (Arizona Paintball Depot) - http://stores.apd-direct.com/Categor...tegory=AIRSOFT Gearbox - http://www.gearboxairsoft.net/ Online companies http://www.airsoftgi.com http://www.airsoftextreme.com/content/ Example of a GBB (Gas blowback) pistol: Sig P226: http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/...oducts_id=4538 ![]() AEGs (Automatic electric guns) primarily used in Airsoft: M4 (or variant) AK-47 G36 M249 (SAW) Here is my opinion on some manufactures to check out, it is a good idea to read reviews/test before spending your money. Low price - (est $150-250) Echo 1 A&K Cyma Dboys Middle price to High (est $250-500) Classic Army Tokyo Marui (can run Middle/High on newer products) ICS G&G G&P High ($1000+) Systema Additional infomation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airsoft_gun http://www.airsplat.com/airsoft-manuals.htm (Manuals) http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumb...hp?f=3&t=15664 (Take down guides) http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumb...php?f=3&t=5451 (Newbie guide)

You don't have to buy BDUs, if you want to be OPFOR you can get away with very little. It's usually the guys that want to look like Delta, SEALs, etc. that spend the money. (Not saying it's right or wrong) Here is a guy selling a set for $40: http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumb...6330&hilit=bdu Ordered these a few weeks ago and lost some weight since then..They are a little big. MC combat Coat is a Xl Regular and the Trousers are a Large Long. Sizing: Large Long - Waist: 35 - 38 Inseam: 32 1/2 - 35 1/2 Extra Large Regular - Chest: 45 - 48 Height: 67 - 71 Sleeve: 23 3/8 Both are brand new, still with tags, still in the box! Thought I would save someone the shipping. If these don't sell right away I am just going to send them back to BDU.com $40 locally for each or $80 for the pair. ![]() ![]() Here is an Echo SOCOM16 for $100 http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumb...p?f=12&t=26423 ![]() Last edited by az ej20 fan; 02-05-2010 at 03:18 PM. |

I'd be more impressed with this as a sport if it was played in nothing more than a jock strap and flip-flops... Just like you really don't want to catch a real bullet, you really don't want to get Airsoft-ed when you're virtually naked. I think it might force the game play into a more realistic exercise.

I have a few extra AEGs so if anyone wants to play let me know. You would need to have the other gear required, but I can help with this part. |

![]() back in the day, we used to find houses in neighborhoods that were halfway built and play in there. it was ridiculously fun, but you always had to watch out for the guy with the CO2 Desert Eagle... very painful. when everybody has cheapy spring shotguns/pistols, it kinda becomes like the California bank robbery shootout. cops (people with spring guns) hide, guy with Co2 gun shoots at them. ![]() but i see your point, i just dont think there is any need for more than light t-shirts, maybe a light vest for equipment holding. tactical vest and what not are a little overkill! |

I got shot borderline point blank by my own gas uzi back in the day. That gun wasn't really accurate worth a damn, but it didn't matter because of how fast it shot. Too bad it broke

Fish's airsoft gun is bad ass. But its a heavy bastard. My Colt Gov't Carbine weighs a few pounds less.
