Question Forester N/A engine questions

What is the engine code for this 2.5 na

Is there a jdm replacement for the sohc 2.5 01 forester engine?

What is the differance from the 01 forester engine and the new 2.5i engine?

Jdm is the same motor, I think, just tuned for higher octane.

Newer 2.5i's are the ej253 I think, different intake manifold and idk what else.

Newer 2.5i EJ253s have VVT on the intake side.
