Default Is there any problem with driving in FWD mode?

I've got a Saab 9-2x linear with the 4eat and I had found out that a solenoid had been causing me problems. I took it to a shop to get worked on, and they can't get just a solenoid, they have only found they can buy the whole rear unit which costs like $800 or more. So for the time being they just took out the solenoid for me and now I'm riding in FWD mode. Is there any problem with that, or should I be fine? I'm headed on a trip Friday and want to know if I should rent a car, or if it will drive just fine in the long run.

I'm not sure the name of the solenoid itself, but it's obviously the one that controls the rear differential. I've been told it's a "duty C solenoid." Is that correct? Where can I just find that alone and not the whole housing, which I don't need. It's got like 5 solenoids, 4 are just perfect, and the 5th is intermittently working, which has caused my binding issues in AWD. Please and thank you
