or are you talking about for something other than rta? isn't being readily available a big part of the RTA tire rules? |

DOesn't look like glass in the doors though. Maybe it's just not complete yet.
It is, but Nikolas has specifically allowed these tires under the Continental tire challenge car rule inclusion. Technically the cars that compete in the Continental tire challenge (formerly Koni challenge) are not legal for Mod either, but they are allowed. Tony |

right, that's why I said I bolted the windows directly to those "doors"
Any idea how these tires are supposed to compare to an NT01 or R888? Do they have a treadwear rating? We had a car out here that was supposedly using a set of prototype hankooks that no one else could get and were of questionable legality. The exceptions and changes and lack of enforcement going on with the rules aren't really anything new though. |

I have heard they are actually similar to or slower than an NT01 or R888, and that the compound is significantly harder than the R6 for durability in endurance racing. I have no first hand experience with them though so I can't say for sure. The redline rules are constantly changing and often make no sense, which is why I have chosen not to run in any of their events up to this point. I was hoping the new management would be different.

It's definitely better than it was last year where there was no enforcement of the rules.
I have gotten some conflicting info on the tires. We'll see how they work out. |

The other thing tipping in favor of the 08 is that we have a P&L kit on it as well, and since it's their home town it would be nice to show off more of their stuff. The argument the other way is that not too many of the Jennies are being seen competing yet (ok, well, there IS that one famous dude...). We'd kind of like to show it off at the track. So, after much discussion we have decided...... that we're not sure yet. ![]() |

It runs, just really rich for some reason. I just moved it in the back lot. Started right up.
Check out the new tires. They are WAY softer than the Michelins. Will be interesting to see how they work. ![]() |

Those look good and sticky!
I'll be up at Autobahn for Redline for the lapping day on Saturday. I need to get used to the track for the NASA event in July. Are you guys planning on attending the Redline, NASA, or a lapping day up there with 10/10ths in the near future? |

We may go to the 10/10ths day in the miata. All depends on how we are feeling after the previous weekend.

Been a busy time for us lately. The car has been going through some testing to sort out all of the little bugs.
At higher boost levels we were having some problems with the air oil separator not keeping up with the flow of vapors leading to some oil coming out of the breather. We added another can AOS inline to the other and having both of them draining to the same point in the crank case which is working very well. Now we don't get any blow by coming out of the breather filter. We upped the rotors to 355mm in the front from 332 and magically enough all of our braking issues went away! The pedal is rock solid at all times, there is very little cracking from the heat and pads aren't wearing as quickly. This is something we knew we needed to do, but were not expecting as drastic results as we saw. We also swapped out pads in the rear to a new compound from Frenosa that seems to work quite well. So well in fact that the rear brakes are actually doing something now and getting hot. We are going to be building ducts for them soon. Tony |

The car is much faster now that we have the engine/tune issues figured out. On top of that Tony has experience at Autobahn so he should be much faster.
As of Saturday we have dropped over 9 seconds off our lap time at Putnam from where the car was at the end of last year. That's pretty much the fendered car record. |

the interesting thing is that we have done NO aero development so far this season as we've been focused on the overall health of everything else.
We should be good for a little more once we get the aero done. |
