That's right!! We forgot as well.

Dunk,

Hood vents were from some company online. I will ask Tony for the name. We used vents on the fenders from them as well.

We were running a TMIC all last year. Since we are going to a 3582 this year though we are going to be going with a P&L front mount.

I don't remember, but for what we paid for them we're strongly considering just making our own to bring out.

We were running a spearco tmic last year.

Opportunity for more rivets...isn't?

And venting the engine bay of course.

I don't think that's where we got them from and I thought they were quite a bit less expensive, but I didn't buy them. The other Tony did.

Those are what we got, but IIRC they were like 120 for the pair.

For that price you can pick up some bling bling ARC fender liner louvers and just install them on your hood for almost 1/3 of the price haha.

Sounds like a candidate for some safety lock wire to keep that from happening again!

We pulled the resistor pack off the stock blower motor and wired the fans such that the stock blower switch operates them. They blow differently on all four speeds and have about the same amount of airflow as the stock blower motor. We routed ducting to the normal air inlet position so that it is always pulling in fresh air.

I could use something like that on my Mustang. Unfortunately, it doesn't even have the heater core anymore, so even with the fans I'd have no warm air to blow.

There are bazillion of louver options on Ebay, some fabbed ones like you guys used before and some OEM take-offs. I've seen punched ones like yours advertised for hundreds of dollars - ridiculous! I've got a variety of them at home that I've bought for experimentation (and never really done much with ). Turbo Lebaron, Turbo Trans Am, Tbird Turbo Coupe, '10 Mustang GT500. That last one would be great for a car with a FMIC, methinks, and can be had for under $50 shipped. Here's a good example of using it on a track-prepped Fox Mustang, has the part number listed, too.

Yes on mod class for that car. We have been kicking around the idea of a second car. Either the 08 STi in street OR the genesis coupe in the stock class (or whatever they are calling the classes now).

I know. Tony W and I were talking about all those lines and how we're going to lock them down this year. Last thing we need is ANOTHER one of those.

how much weight do you think you saved from the vent fan re-design? Your solution looks pretty cool.

Talking about HVAC, do you remember how much you saved when you originally removed the A/C? I've heard anywhere from 23 to ~50 pounds, although mid-twenties looks more accurate from looking around in the car.

I would say 25-30 would be about right. We have all of the pieces and can measure if we have time.

The fan setup saved about 6-8 lbs.

We decided that we didn't like the lack of bracing around areas where the cage tied into the floor so Tony made some plates and welded them in today. Couple quick pics of what they look like before paint. This are just mig welded as he doesn't have a tig, but the welds look pretty good.

We are going to run the fuel lines up and over these instead of around the bars. Don't think there is anyway they would be pinched in a side impact.

Tony

Hey guys, don't know if you'd be interested or not but figured I'd ask anyway since you guys actually track this car...

As I'm sure you know, I have the old "Boxer4Racing / Continental Tire" STi that Steven Rankins drove in One Lap of America in 2007 & 2008... I also have two sets of wheels (with pretty worn out tires) that came with the car that I really need to get rid of...

I saw above that youguys will be ruinning 18x10 wheels this year? Well I have two sets in that same size:

- 18x10 Enkei RP03's (near perfect condition with only one 1" scratch on one spoke)
- 18x10 Axis Reverb's (used for 2 years, set of 5 - the spare one has NEVER been on the car!)

** Steven got both of these because they are very light for their sizes, and thus great for competition. I want to say that the Enkei's are around 20lbs each and the Axis are similar (I think alittle lighter) because they have hollow spokes **

Would you be interested in either of these? Seems like no one wants them for a DD car ...

Let me know if you are interested! I need to get rid of them as I am moving to a Townhome with no garage in just a few weeks and will have to get a storage building if I can't sell these before then... I'll be sure to cut youguys a good deal, but if I do I want to see ya run them at One Lap of America this year!!

~ Chris

Edited for pics:

Yeah, put some cheap cheap 235s on them as part of the sale and they'd buy them up in a heartbeat .
