Thanks Pat,

I like the look at the GT500 vent. Let me know if you don't want yours anymore and I'll buy it off you.

If not, I'll try and brave the local Ford dealer here in a few weeks.

I could use something like that on my Mustang. Unfortunately, it doesn't even have the heater core anymore, so even with the fans I'd have no warm air to blow.

There are bazillion of louver options on Ebay, some fabbed ones like you guys used before and some OEM take-offs. I've seen punched ones like yours advertised for hundreds of dollars - ridiculous! I've got a variety of them at home that I've bought for experimentation (and never really done much with ). Turbo Lebaron, Turbo Trans Am, Tbird Turbo Coupe, '10 Mustang GT500. That last one would be great for a car with a FMIC, methinks, and can be had for under $50 shipped. Here's a good example of using it on a track-prepped Fox Mustang, has the part number listed, too.

really?? So those hella flush threads would like wheels like this?? I thought they were all about crazy close clearances and wheels that are like 1mm from rubbing but somehow don't...

They are, but they're (the wheels) so bloody wide I bet you'd get some takers. 10" wheels are going to be flush as hell for that group.

Haha, I might have to post them up there then... Talking to someone on PM about them now though so we'll see how that goes...

Chris,

We can't use them. We are still running 5x100 in the rear. Plus we really like Rotas and don't think we'd go away from them any time soon.

You must be joking, 235's don't have near enough "poke" or whatever. 215's would be a better fit.

I am glad to see you guys pushing into another season with a mission. I am curious if the GT3788 was considered when you were choosing a new turbo and if so, why you decided not to go with it ? I am excited for the season to start, though I will likely be unable to do anything this year other than a couple of track days.

I wish you guys the best of luck.

On a good note, this proves that I know nothing about the hella flush stuff .

TIC, I'm assuming you did a 5x114 swap in the front to take advantage of the easy as can be swap of wheel bearing/hub on the 05+ STI knuckles? Do the rears not wear out nearly as frequently even with the 5x100s?

We have a set of 6gun front hubs on the car that we run in 5x114 bolt pattern.

Didn;t consider the 3788, but I will look at it.

TiC,

Since you are going with a FMIC this year, do you plan to use a reverse hood scoop or maybe a vented 2.5i flat hood, either should be a significant reducetion in front end lift/drag from the stock hood scoop?

We'll stick with a WRX hood for the weight vs. the RS hood. We'll ditch the scoop and most likely do a louvered vent there.

We'll probably do the forward louvers like we had on the old hood.

Nope. We have the helmet nets.

Downside - W doesn't fit. Need to talk to Mark@MSI, but he's gone for the evening. I'll have to catch up with him this weekend or monday.

Ok, I was gonna say...watching the in-car video from my wreck my head was bouncing around a LOT. The head restraints definitely were a huge help in preventing injury.

Stoptech ST40 calipers with 332/355 rotors (not sure which size we will run yet, but likely the 355), stoptech lines, Hawk DTC70 pads.

Running subaru 2 pot rears with stock rotors and Hawk HT10's.

There was an article in Eurotuner last month where an Audi time attack car actually reverted to Enkei rpf1's wheels in 17" size because they claimed the weight and inertial reductions outweighed the handling losses by going from an 18" to a 17" rim. They were running 650+ whp, so I have to wonder what they did for brakes for track days...
