Default AP tuner race issues

ok so i get the race tuner setup and i am confused. not everything works and i dont understnd why its there if it does not work.

i have been chasing a surging idle thing for weeks now and no matter what you change in the program idle stays the same . 1500 nothin ,750 nothin it just does not matter. but if i change it with the keypad it works perfect??

target closed loop air fuel DOES NOT DO ANYTHING
REV LIMITS DO NOT WORK EITHER

and to be honest im not even sure if the fuel table works either. i cant seem to get the IDC to change no matter what numbers i put in the table????

ALL of the close loops setting do nothing i attempted to turn CL off at idle and it still chases 14.7. i run E85 and can run leaner and its always chasing 14.7 even with the TARGET map set to 15.5

im no rookie and have been tuning for years and if i use romraider everything works and the car runs great, the main reason for me purchasing the cobb is so i could switch maps whenever i cannot get E85 and the live tuning.

COBB please respond

I don't think Cobb will respond, my understanding is that they provide no support for this since it competes with pro tuner efforts.

As far as the primary fuel map and rev limits, remember that your real-time map overrides your base map when one is loaded. So, if you flash a change to your base map and then load a real-time map, the primary fuel and rev limits (and other RT specific tables) will be set to your real-time map. Alternatively, if you have a real-time map loaded and then reset the ECU, you will revert to the base map values.

As far as the "idle speed" tables, I'm not sure what you mean by "changing it with the keypad". The "idle speed" tables are base map tables which mean you have to flash the changes - they are not real-time. That means you have to change the value, save the map, upload it to the AP, and then flash with the AP (connecting the test mode connectors in your case).

As far as running OL at idle, what exactly did you change?

hmmm so if i make a fuel change i have to hard flash it for it to take even though while i am driving around it stays? what i mean on the idle is that if i change the idle values to let say 1k and i real time flash it it will not change, but if i change the idle on the keypad (commander or whatever ya wanna call it) the idle will change and stay that way even when i disconnect the commander. also whn you say "flash" you mean hard flash as in connect the plug right?

what would be the easiest way to eliminate CL at idle, i think the car can idle around 900 but because it chases AFR and E85,cams etc etc i need it to just idle with no ECU CL adjustments

Only certain tables are real-time capable. Idle speed tables are not. Under the category "realtime tables" are the list of real-time tables for your ECU. If a table is not real-time, you will need to "hard" flash those changes (connect the test mode connector and flash with AP). The idle adjustment that can be done via the Accessport is a separate function from real-time tuning (actually a dealer supported function).

You can force OL all the time by changing the closed loop delays to zero and making sure no cell in your primary fuel map is leaner than 14.4:1 AFR (for your particular ECU). Of course, you will not be able to target leaner than stoich this way.

The closed loop targets tables are actually compensations to the CL target, not the actual target itself. We will change this in a future update to make it more clear and add additional tables that will make it easier to influence/understand the CL target.

so whats the point of the temporary flashes? if i bench tune and then temp flash it only certain changes take place but some dont makes it pointless right , or am i missing something?

everything works now, i feel dumb but my thought process was not correct inhow i though it woudl work. it seems to me that i should never temp flash as it really is not needed.
