The front bumper, hood and fenders look slightly off. Also, in one of the engine bay shots look at the firewall above where the turbo is - there's a circle-shaped hole in the firewall that's usuall covered with a grommet (the firewall looks bent/chewed up where that hole is; it's not a normal circle anymore).

I will bet there was some very serious damage done to it. The airbag is crooked in the steering wheel too which is a sign it has been deployed (the steering wheel will distort sometimes and the new one doesn't always fit back in properly). There is no reason for the headlight, grill, bumper, and hood to be that crooked unless the frame is bent and not put back to normal. I bet that thing drives like hell.

I can't believe it has an actual 4800 miles. It's 5 years old! It probably sat in a garage getting chopped back together and then they bought a new cluster or reset the mileage.

It is super clean though... that would support the mileage claim.

i would definitely ask to see some sort of invoices for the repair work to see what was replaced. strange to have such low miles, and what does he consider a light hit? no light hit will total a suby.

That car looks "done" that car is worth about as much as a swap, because if you bought that, chances are your best bet would be to buy a shell and swap it all over.

The front can be straightened or can be replaced, the whole car can be straightened too. But what will that cost you? All that's said and done, you've a salvage title STI that may or may not have damage to teh drivetrain.

Chances are that the car has been floating around at auction from buyer to buyer for the last couple of years (actually common at insurance auctions), someone buys it, says "I'm not fixing it" and puts it back into auction.

In this pic, you can rust where they used a grinder on where hte frame is bent and see the brake lines going to the abs unit, they've been bent.

because of two reasons

1. N/A 2.0 and 2.2 are everywhere

2. Because they use a VW transmission, there isn't a compatible speed sensor, so the ECU won't run right, so I either you spend $1200 for a standalone or you spend the money for the speed sensor conversion.

For $300 you should be able to buy an old legacy engine ecu and harness and have a running rail/bug.

That one is probably a 90-94 T legacy drivetrain.

He is serious. I have shot him a few emails and he really feels the car is worth that. I can't bring myself to shatter his world and tell him is sint worth it.

Rule of thumb. Take the value of your car stock and subtract half the total price of all the mods. That is the true value.

I flagged him cause it's stupid and he's gonna get a bunch of spam.

I think he could use a little spam just so he knows he is asking too much.
